Our university laboratory has extensively worked with these tick remover tools to ensure that they can easily and safely remove all types of ticks from humans or animals.
The tick removal tool can be used to gently and entirely remove larger embedded ticks by sliding the fork underneath the tick’s mouthparts and lifting. The ultra-fine-tip tweezers can be used to precisely remove tiny embedded deer ticks or tick nymphs.
The CDC recommends the use of fine-tipped tweezers to carefully remove ticks. Beware of other tick removal tools that advertise “twisting” or jerking the tick – this can cause the mouth-parts to break off and remain in the skin, and increase the transmission risk of tick-borne infections like Lyme disease.

Our cat has recently been coming home with ticks daily. He’s and indoor outdoor cat while I have been waiting on his soresto collar to come in this tool has been wonderful and easy to use. My dog hates getting ticks removed, so this was definitely worth the money! They are the perfect size for pinching ticks off and very durable for when my dog try to move the whole time making them easy to use. They are portable with a cute little black case to carry them in. With two different options it makes it very versatile depending on the type and size of tick.

Apparent Missed Grinding, I Think
The larger of the two tools appears to exhibit a missed or rough grind on one gripping edge inside the fork as shown by the area circled in red on the second photo. I do not believe the tool was intended to be finished this way, however, I could be mistaken.The opposite side does not have this sharp, irregularly-shaped edge which resembles a shelf somewhat, looks to guillotine the tick instead of enabling you to pry it out. The edge is extremely sharp and uneven.I could be wrong. Perhaps the sharpness and irregular edge better grips the hard exoskeleton of the tick and it is therefore an improvement as compared with a smooth, ground down and polished edge I expected for this tool. It just doesn’t look like it was an intended feature but rather a manufacturing defect.Regarding the larger tool’s handle, the product has knurling on the handle that helps you grip the tool securely and confidently, which is terrific.The second, smaller of the two tools is a forceps of the sort you could buy from a scientific supply store or a drug store. However, you would likely pay more at those places and the price charged by this company is very fair. This forceps has a precise interior edge that should enable very secure gripping of even tiny ticks and other small objects like bee and wasp stingers, slivers and ingrown hairs.I’ve read here the product ships inside a leather carrying case. The material used for the case is actually textured vinyl or other polymer and not leather. The choice of this material is a superior one in terms of my preferences because I will tote the two tools inside the case with me on lengthy backpacking trips and the polymer is much lighter in weight, it won’t absorb water from rain or the like, and it is tackier and thus more grippable. The case is well made and should protect the tools inside very well.A final observation is that the instructional/tick identification card which is included won’t fit inside the case and the card is constructed of cardboard that will disintegrate if soaked in water or another liquid like an oil or lotion such as sunscreen. The card is not manufactured of plastic.I have just unboxed the product but am generally pleased with what I have received. Shipment was very prompt and uneventful. Product quality is good unless my concern about the one interior edge inside the larger tools proves out and the shelf-like and sharp protrusion there decapitates my first tick instead of removing the bug intact.

Both tweezers & pry bar have individual slots in leather case-awesome.1 piece of feedback for the team, it would be nice if the “info card” was designed such that it could be placed in the holder. I put clear “box tape” around mine & then cut it in order slide 34 of it into case flap holder. These are the best tick removers I have ever had. They are really easy to use as a set. The split fork like tool is really great at removing nearly all ticks of any size, and the fine tweezers are ideal for getting the smallest of ticks. I have used these on dogs, cats and humans. Overall would say these are really functional, solidly built and good looking tools which are great value for money.
