A Great Scratching Post
We recently got this cat scratching post, and overall, it’s a great addition to our home. One of our cats absolutely loves it and enjoys scratching away, while the other prefers scratching posts with sisal rope. Itâs important to note that our rope-loving cat isn’t as drawn to this one, but for our other kitty, itâs perfect. What we really appreciate about this scratching post is that it’s tall enough for our adult cat to stretch out fully while scratching, which is a big win. It seems sturdy and well-built, providing plenty of space for both of our cats to interact with it in their own ways. While not a universal hit in our home, itâs definitely a solid option for cats who enjoy a tall, vertical scratching surface. Weâre happy with the purchase and would recommend it, especially for cats who prefer this type of material.

Decent scratching post.
This is a decent scratching post. My cat has completely ignored this in favor of her preferred couch, but cat’s gonna cat and that’s not the fault of the scratching post.It was a little tricky to put together, so 4 stars. They give you double-ended threaded posts to put the pieces together. There’s a spot in the middle that’s not threaded. On every double-ended post I’ve used in the past, you put one end in, turn it until the non-threaded part jams against the nut so the post stops turning and you can easily put on the second part. Not these, they just kept turning and turning right through past the middle. Hence the tricky part: the post just wants to keep turning right on through when you’re trying to put on the second part. A pair of vice grips took care of that, but still a PITA.Other than that though, no issues.

Fell apart in less than a week
Within a few days, our cats had pulled the scratching fabric off the post. What in the world! It’s a cat scratcher! The fabric should be attached to stay on when the cats use it, not pull off! Do not buy this!! Such a waste of money!

A Purrfect Scratching Solution
This Aplatho scratching post is a simple yet effective way to keep your kitty entertained and your furniture safe. It’s got a sturdy base and a tall, sisal-wrapped post that’s perfect for scratching. Plus, the dangling toy adds a bit of fun.Pros:Simple and sturdy: Easy to assemble and built to last.Encourages healthy scratching: Keeps your cat’s claws trimmed and furniture intact.Compact design: Perfect for smaller spaces.Cons:Minimal features: Some cats may prefer a scratching post with more perches or toys.Overall, this is a great option for cat owners who want a basic, no-frills scratching post. If your cat is a simple soul who just needs a good scratch, this post is a solid choice.Tip: Add a bit of catnip to the sisal for extra appeal!

It is extremely difficult for one person to assemble.
I bought this for my cat. It is not easy to assemble for one person. I am very, very disappointed in it. I have to wait to find someone to help me assemble it.

Great height for adult cats
I’ve got two chunky kitties, the both like having the more sturdy scratchers with a base. This one is a great height as well. They can jump on top without a problem too.

Big hit with our 8 cats
I had this cat tree assembled within a few minutes and cats attacked right off. The instant I put it out they were clawing. So far it is holding up as well as our other cat trees. These larger ones allow them more freedom to climb and sit on top. It is fun watching them tip-toe on top of the cat scratchers. Some other scratchers may be taller but the key is allowing the cat to work their muscles which typically does not involve fully stretching out their bodies. They will often claw posts instead of furniture if given a choice.

24 hours literally fell apart at the seams.
When I initially set this up, It was easy to assemble and the cats loved it .We have a decently large number of cats, though, and unfortunately, they completely ripped it apart within 24 hours. As you can see from the pictures, the scratching material was ripped off the top, and the threads are starting to come off. The carpet-like material is being pulled off the bottom. All the fabric on this has pretty much come off within 24 hours of use. With this many cats, I wasnât expecting it to last as long as it would in a single-cat home. I would have been happy with maybe a month, but not less than a day. I canât imagine this would last very long even if you just have two heavy scratchers ,weâre probably talking weeks or a month, and thatâs not acceptable, especially considering itâs being sold as sturdy. For a single-cat home or for cats who are not heavy scratchers, thereâs no point in getting this because itâs huge and supposed to be very sturdy. If you have a single cat who doesnât really scratch things, youâre not buying an enormous, reinforced cat scratching post. The carpeting material on the bottom needs to be much more firmly affixed to the wood itâs placed around, and the scratchable material on top seems to have been joined with a seam that wasnât very sturdy or stitched together well. That needs to be addressed as well. No it looks horrible and no longer functions as a cat scratching post. The cats did find it entertaining for several hours but honestly cardboard boxes hold up longer and provide more fun to the average catThey pretty much had half an inch folded over on itself with a single stitch holding it together, which is not going to work. Youâre not making a pillowcase hereâthis thing is supposed to be ripped at continuously. Iâm no expert in manufacturing, but I would recommend having an entire area, like 4 inches or more, overlapped between the two pieces and stitched extensively.Thereâs also nothing really holding this material to the top of the pole other than a small overlap.
