Flexi Leash You Know…..and Literally “More”
I have a couple Labradoodle puppies that are going through training, in walking AND in play. So I picked this up for them to give me a combination of control with them and freedom should I want to give it. If you’ve used Flexi, you know how good they are. If not, let me just preface by saying: the locks are great with minimal “accidental” engagements or disengagements, it is intuitive to use, it is well-built and holds up (so long as you keep the doggies from making them chew toys). However, new or old to Flexi, there are a few things you should know about this…..specifically:It’s bigger and heavier….noticeably. Not anything that hinders me, but for some it may be an issue.The retraction spring is beefier. While you never really want to let a Flexi leash “just come back”; it’s especially crucial here. I could see legitimate injury coming from letting it whip back.The bottom and top of the leash has the storage wheel for the leash exposed. This means the wheel can make contact with skin if you aren’t careful and can possibly give you friction burns.None of these have really come into play with me, but I do feel they are worth mentioning as this is a slightly different beast from traditional Flexi leashes. However, in spite of these things, this leash is a remarkable tool of excellent build quality, smooth mechanics, and insightful design. I’ve used Flexi a long time and I will continue to use them so long as their quality holds. There are a dozen retractable leash brands……Flexi remains the best I’ve used and the Giant is no exception.

This is a great leash. It is very well built and looks to be very durable. I have used it at least 3 times a day for about 2 months now and it has performed flawlessly so far. I expect it to last a very long time.This is my third retractable leash – I have a dog that can be a puller at times when he is overcome by whatever his nose finds. ( we’re working on it). My first was the traditional flexi retractable 16 foot. I still have that one and it still works after 6 months of use because Flexi is a very good brand that build quality stuff but it was just a little bit too lightweight for my dog and I also wanted a longer leash. So I got a Kong retractable leash that was a little longer and appeared to be more robust and it was a very good leash for about 5 months of intense activity until internals broke one day and it would no longer retract. So I bought this one as a replacement and I am very happy to go back to Flexi because they build quality stuff and this Giant model they have is really good for large dogs. I got the large size and it is fairly big in my hands (I’m a 6-ft male.) But , it was obviously engineered with ergomics in mind because when you are walking with it, it is extremely well-balanced and you don’t feel the weight at all. I think a woman would have no problem with the weight , however , it might be a little difficult to manage for those with small hands (sorry, mr. Soon-to-be-impeached/arrested-for-treason) because you need to be able to hold it and use your thumb to control the buttons in both directions at the same time.I would buy it again, but I don’t think I’ll ever need to unless I lose it or it is stolen. So, I’ll recommended to you.

I have a black lab I’m not sure how much she weighs but she’s not giant and she’s really not tying but she is extremely strong and this leash is great and works wonders. Don’t have much to add to that other than she pulls on it hard it’s never broken nothing is broken on it now and I’ve had it for more than 6 months If it did break I would buy another one.
