Great for pets eating too quickly
I tried this product because my pup was eating her food too quickly. I wasnât expecting much. Itâs super cute and sturdy. We have had for quite a while and use 2x per day. It has stopped her from vomiting food.

Slowed his eating way down!
When we first adopted our pup, he was malnourished, skinny, hyper, and was an absolute pig about eating. I mean he was sucking it down so fast that he would end up throwing up full pieces of kibble and we would just reuse it…I’m kidding. But seriously, he was bad. We almost called him Hoover, because of his resemblance to the 31st president of the United States. I’m joshing you! it’s because he ate like a hoover vacuum. Vacuum is a word I will never spell correctly, is it two C’s? Three U’s? What is going on with this word? Thank the Lord for spell check, because that word is a nightmare. I digress. This bowl most definitely fixed the “problem” the first time we filled it with food, it took the pup 7 whole minutes to eat his chow. 7 minutes as opposed to 38 seconds. Since he’s had it, he’s gotten smart about how he eats, I think he’s probably down to about 3 minutes now, but it’s still an improvement. He hasn’t barfed up full dog food, like some ill conceived hungry hungry hippos prototype that sent the balls out of the mouth instead of collecting them. What would they have called that game? ‘Fun Fun Bulimia Hippo’ Can’t say that the PC culture would readily adopt that version. So yea, this bowl most certainly works. It keeps the dog calm as he tries to retrieve each individual pebble and he ends up taking his time to eat. Which is nice. I highly recommend this above trying to feed your dog by hand one pebble of dog food at a time.

This dish really works to slow down my 7 lb. Yorkipoo, which was the main reason I bought this dish. I thought it might be too big for my small pup, but it works just fine. No more gobbling up her food and choking. Only downside is that the dish slides around too much. There are hard plastic things on the bottom, but they need to be rubber to keep the dish from sliding. It has no suction power at all, however, I also bought a rubber mat to put the dish on and that helps keep it from sliding around.

Feeding Time!!
Ollie has pancreatitis & needs to eat slow. He loves his feeding routines as you can see. I make them kinda crazy I know. But this bowl helps him work for his food or he would be done before I sat down. This way it takes him at least 5 minutes to eat. Much better for digestion. Even if your dog is just a fast eater, help them slow down.

I have a Dachshund….
First of all, the quality of the bowl, and the equity of the item described to what was actually received was completely up to par and exactly as expected. I am very satisfied with the product itself. It has been over a month since purchase, and, with twice-daily use and a multitude of washes, it has held up as perfectly as can be expected. However…If you know Dachshunds, then you know how STUBBORN, single-track minded, food motivated, and immensely intelligent (often too much so for their own good) they are. In otherwords, my devilish (yet exceedingly adorable) little dachshund figured it out in about a week. Although, just by the very nature of the bowl’s design, it DOES still slow him down, he’s figured out how to manuver his pointy little anteater-like snout around the ridges, whilst at the same time, utilizing his tongue (which is surprisingly long for his little face) to capture each piece of food impressively quick. I should also mention for reference that the food we use is the Fresh Pet brand rolls, sliced into 20 lb dog- (approximately) bite-sized pieces.So, in conclusion, I definitely DO recommend this bowl. Furthermore, I’m glad I went with the highest level of “complexity” design – for the reason just previously described. It absolutely does work, and is constructed exactly as advertised/expected. Just beware that if your furry one is anything like mine, be prepared to upgrade to something more complicated sooner rather than later if you want to keep them sufficiently slowed down.
