It’s is exactly what it says and works great
Bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. uses the black light to look for things that glow under it, the flash light to see in the dark and the laser to play with the dogs. seems to be lasting a while without recharge so I would say good bang for your buck.

wonderful cat toy. but this brand less so, light scatters/diffuses around the dot/symbol.
Amended : since using for a while, I have noticed that the light scatters a bit, like an after effect or ghost image? The lazer dot/symbols are not quite as bright/clear/precise as my older well used device. If i fiddle around with it, I can sometimes get it a bit more clear, but it’s a nuissance. I’m not sure how much this bothers my cat, he does seem slightly less engaged, but I haven’t tested them side by side to see which one he might chase.. but I don’t like it so one star off. Useable but maybe not such a bargain..Original review: I have found these a wonderful toy for my cat.. the one thing he never gets bored with. Though how you use it, might be a learned skill.. For me, it is more than just a toy, it is a very useful way to entice my stubborn cat out of hiding, and with a bit of patience and luck, can lead him to where I want him to go.. or go away from. Not the smartest cat in the world, He quickly learned the word ‘HUNT’ and immediately gets ready to have fun.. He chases, and often even anticipates where the red dot will go..the hunt always ends in a reward, leading him to a special toy, food, treats or a massage/petting/brushing session….usually all of the above. My only complaint is that he loves this so much he wants to ‘HUNT’ several…many times during the day and night… and lets me know if I try to skip it, or cut it short. I usually just use the dot lazer, but occasionally switch to other shapes just to keep it merry. It also has a mini flashlight, useful for finding lost toys, and a ‘purple’ light which shows up some spots on carpet/upholstery, but doesn’t seem very effective. Perhaps I’m not using it right? These don’t require batteries, just remove the end cap and recharge in USB outlet.. quick & easy. These are a slight upgrade from the one I’ve been using…the switches for the different lights and shapes seems slightly better. And the price for 2 was good. There is a ‘pocket-clip’ on them to keep them handy, but I can now keep one handy in different rooms.

Useless for me
It has 2 options for the laser light, both too big, cats didn’t even bother to look at it. The added “flashlight is not bright enough to see anything, it’s too big, and and I have a nice bright flashlight on my phone. I didn’t even bother to return it, just put it in the donation bag and bought a nice small laser toy at my local hardware store for $10! Didn’t know that had them or I wouldn’t have ordered this one.

It’s pretty bright, one relative prefers using the setting that has an image which helps diffuse the brightness of the red dot. It’s rechargeable, and our kitten likes to play with the wrist string attached as well.
