Cats Love These Things
I’ve owned a few of these now and every cat I’ve ever presented it to has gone bonkers over it. My last cat went through two. She was a destructive little monkey, but actually a pretty big cat. She could actually grab the feather in her mouth and pick the whole unit up in her mouth and carry it or flick her neck and throw it. She was tough on these, but she really liked beating them up. The cat I have now enjoys sitting and staring at it and occasionally swatting at it. She lets me know she wants to play with it by going and sitting next to it and looking from me to it until I go turn it on. They’re pretty sturdy unless your cat throws them, even then, the case, etc holds up fine. It’s the feathers that take a beating. It comes with one extra feather in the box, but I’d recommend getting the package of spares, too. The batteries last a really long time, even with regular play. It’s a little noisy, but the cats seem to get used to that quickly. It’s a really great toy.

Too loud, cat is afraid of it
I have a kitten who is always in attack mode. He’ll pounce on anything that moves.But this toy is so loud that he’s afraid to touch it. He’ll sit and watch it from a foot away, like some kind of cat television, but he won’t approach it until it’s turned off (at which point he tries to chew off the rubber button).I’ve tried it a half dozen times over the last week, and he’s not getting used to it.I gave it 3 stars because it’s pretty well made and seems good quality, and some small aspects of the design are very intelligent (it makes fake noises like it’s extending the feathers when it isn’t, it pauses for a minute sometimes, and seems to actually be random, rather than a programmed pattern).But it’s just a useless hunk of plastic for me. Maybe there’s cats who don’t mind the sound.

Awesome toy-not just for cats!
I got this cat toy -obviously for my cats. They love it! BUT it has an unexpected side effect that has been very helpful. My young dog was diagnosed with heart worms and with the treatment, this hyperactive dog has to be kept quiet and calm for the duration and recovery- up to six months. She immediately focused on this toy and will play with it -without being active – for hours. She loves it as much as the cats do. While it occupies her and keeps her activity level way down, it’s also teaching her to focus – which is a huge training tool. While my dog does grab at the feathers she has not been able to tear them or damage the toy in any way. It’s very sturdy and doesn’t slide for the cats so they can entertain themselves by pouncing on it. It does move for the dog- but only because she’s pushing it with her nose to get the feathers. I highly recommend this toy for whatever pet you have at home that can be fascinated by it’s quick, random moving and brightly colored feathers . It does have a moderate humming noise but it’s tolerable while you’re being entertained by watching your pets playing with it.

Lo compre para que mis gatos, uno de 13 y otro de 4 años, se entretuvieran, pero la verdad es que el mayor ni se acerco y el mas joven no le presto mas atencion despues de 1 minuto. Supongo que dependera de cada animal. Diseño bonito aunque hay que decir que es un poco ruidoso, pero eso es normal, ya que es un aparato que va con pilas y lleva un motorcito.
