    Really creative recipes
I bought this book after leafing through my sister’s copy one Christmas. I have a small 1.5 quart ice cream maker and wanted to branch out beyond vanilla and chocolate. These recipes are great. I have tried at least half of the recipes in this book–including Avocado ice cream.Note: these recipes are not “quick”, nor are many of them “simple”. There can be a lot of prep time–like juicing tangerines, or preparing a mix-in sauce separately from the main ice cream custard mix. (Still less prep time and fewer eggs than the Williams Sonoma ice cream recipes, though.) They do include recipes for toppings and baked goods to accompany the ice creams. This is now our go-to ice cream recipe book, and we have many new favorites because of it.

    Disappointed!
I am very disappointed in this recipe book. Flipping through..there are only a few recipes I will even consider trying. I was looking for new ideas to use with my electric ice cream maker. My family will not try most of the recipes such as the avocado ice cream, meyer lemon-olive oil ice cream, plum and port wine ice cream. These are not ice cream recipes for children.
