I got this because I was using a stainless steel spoon to scoop ice cream that was real hard. I was having trouble getting ice cream out. This works great! It gets a perfectly round scoop out. It’s heavy duty with a strong release mechanism. I highly recommend this product

OK, but Release Mechanism not Great
This scoop makes somewhat rounded balls of ice cream, but the release mechanism for getting the ice cream out of the scoop only works when the ice cream is very hard, otherwise it presses into the “round” ball of ice cream and doesn’t cleanly eject the ice cream from the scoop.

I was looking for the old style like this where you could squeeze the handle and it would release the food. This is exactly what I wanted. I will use it to portion control carbs such as rice and pasta.
