Excellent – So excellent
I did a ton of research before getting these e-collars for my two Aussie border collie pups. They were about 20 weeks when these arrived, and training was simple. I’ve never used an e-collar before and was a bit daunted. No worries – a few vids online (check out Lone Star Dog Training on Garmin) – and within a couple of times heading out with ’em I got it and they got it. We live on 10 acres in the country, and these dogs need to run. They were running into roads and trying to herd cows, eating piles of deer poop and digging after gophers. We actually encountered two rattlesnakes on two days back-to-back – which I’ve NEVER seen over 30 years of hiking in this area. At that point we knew they had to have rattlesnake training or e-collars – or both. So we couldn’t take them anywhere until we saved up for e-collars.It took a bit of confidence to let them out together on the one controller – and I still do occasionally make mistakes with it (shocking one dog rather than the other) – but not many. The tone almost always works now – even when they’re highly stimulated. They had found a dead gopher just this morning and the tone got them away from it. That wouldn’t have worked just a month ago. *The cat food in the garage is another story. The controller is SIMPLE. The shocking – which I’ve test up to a 6 on myself (it goes to 10) – is a jolt and definitely one wants to be careful and consistent and educated using it. There’s a vibration mode which I’ve never used, and a tone. Two settings which is easy to hook up for two dogs. If you’ve only got one dog – you won’t use it, obviously. They’re waterproof – everywhere – and we’ve tested this out just be being out and about. The batteries last a long while. I charge them every three days just to make sure – but the batteries last 70 hours – the manuals say.Buying another collar was simple. Everything’s $100 – so for my set up it was $300. If we want another remote, we’ll spend another $100. You can buy collars separately or a package deal. You can get collars that fit the … device (?) that goes on the collar – several places.I’m thrilled with these Garmin e-collars. I’m happy I did my research. I looked at a TON of e-collars, read the reviews, looked at the features – we didn’t want something cheap. We definitely didn’t need hunting collars that are $900 with GPS. I’d looked into the Halo collars – but… you need subscriptions with those. Lame. For life. Lame. If you can’t get an e-fence, which would be preferable, honestly (or at least I’d like it in addition to the e-collars) – these are wonderful. Go do some digging and check them out ~ I honestly don’t think I have anything negative to say about them thus far. We’ve had them for nearly seven weeks.

Love that it’s waterproof
This is a great training collar! It fits our Rottweiler mix very well with room to grow. She also likes to jump in the lake with it on and we haven’t had any issues with it. I love that it’s waterproof. It’s also very easy to use with nice clear instructions on charging and use. I like that you can wear the remote as a necklace or use the lanyard tightener to wear it around your wrist. Another plus for me is that the collar and remote are rechargeable with a USBC cord and don’t use batteries.

Really Big dogs
So I bought this for my 10 month old,155 lbs puppy. The device works well. Iâve only had to use the shock feature 2-3 times when he wasnât listening. I only had to use it at half its capability to get his attention and bring him back.My only complaint is that itâs almost too small for his neck. He has a 27â neck and itâs on the 2nd or 3rd hole from the end and he has growing to do. Iâm thinking about buying a replacement strap and attach the two together since the unit its self is so effective.I would also like to have had the vibrate as a separate button instead of being a selection on the intensity knob.

Happy
Years ago we had a Garmin Delta Sport XC collar and loved it. The battery went bad and my husband ruined the device trying to get it open. We loved the unit so we ordered a replacement. I got a new German Shepherd puppy and got out my Delta Sport XC collar that I already owned. It had a weak battery that wouldn’t last the day so I came on Amazon to order a replacement collar. I really thought I ordered the XC but I got the SE instead. I tried to link them and I could get them to sync but it looked like I only had shock features and I use mostly tone and vibrate. I thought I was going to need to return but I called the Garmin customer support listed and a really nice guy answered my questions, helped me link them up and told me that I can order a replacement battery for the collar I already have. Happy day!

Can’t hear it, can’t feel it – It is ignored.
I originally received the Garmin Delta® SE with my trained dog and was impressed, so I decided to purchase another for my second dog. Unfortunately, the new device was a disappointment. Even when fully charged, the tone is barely audible, and the vibration is extremely weak, even when held in my hand. I initially thought the issue was due to using two collars with the same controller, but it turned out to be a standalone problem with the new unit. Sadly, it just doesnât work as expected.

Great Quality, Water proof, Durable, great range & easy to use!! we had a trainer work with us for off leash training prior to getting an ecollar & then she helped get him adjusted to it.Very user friendly but if its your first time training a dog to one highly recommend having proper training and knowledge of how to adjust them to the ecollar 🙂 great products, bad rep because of people miss using them !! Our dog gets amped when the ecollar is out, means adventure time!!

This collar was recommended by our breeder and it works great when used correctly. My breeder gave me full lesson on how to use it properly before I bought it. Please read carefully and use on the lowest settings.
