This is our first auto feeder. We have 4 Tanks — 10, 20, & 140 gallon Fresh Water; and a 260 gallon Salt Mixed Reef Water.Unit arrived undamaged and complete. Easy to follow instructions. Simple to set up. Operates on 2 AA Batteries, not included. Great! No looking for someplace to plug something else in.Silent when rotating. LED indications are a good size and easy to read provided itâs mounted so you can see the screen which is on the end of the unit. Includes Water Temperature Probe.Setting time, and 1, 2 or 3 programable feeding schedules are all done with the push of a few buttons. It does allow manual dispensing with single button operation.It is recommended to clean the feeding cups weekly. Will most likely test that schedule.This is for Dry and Flake foods only. No wet or frozen foods.Now, hereâs a âwhy did they do thatâ? The feeder comes with a small decal that is the Measuring Label. It is placed on the feeding cup next to the slider through which the food is dispensed. The writing on the label is dark blue and the cup is black. Dark Blue on Black. Cannot read the scale without a flash light!Will give it a go on one of the Fresh Water tanks with pellet foods.Iâll update the review if Off The Hook does not meet basic â Do I trust it if Iâm not there.â

VERY NICE Auto Fish feeder with thermometer.
This is a VERY nice feeder. I have several different styles that dispense or hang on the tank in different ways, but this is my favorite design.You can mount the feeder on the edge of the tank, or use the included two sided tape (circle) to mount to a flat surface. I tape this type of feeder to the top of the hang on back filter. Food gets dropped into the stream of the filter, pushed to the front of tank where it drops. I do a couple test drops to make sure it is in the “sweet spot” and the tape it down. If I need to fill it, change batteries or adjust things, I take the filter top off and it is easy to adjust and put back in the perfect spot. However since I mount it that way I cannot take advantage of thermometer as I cannot easily see it.I recommend putting food in the feeder, put it on a piece of paper, and test how much comes out using the manual feed button. Moving the slider the tiniest bit, can cause a huge change in how many tiny pellets come out. Once you have your amount, put a piece of tape over the small slider so it does not move. Make sure not to tape down the sliding door that you use to refill the food drum.Included is a sticker that gives you a reference point of how large the food opening is. This is brilliant, I wish more feeders had this!Set up was easy, I have set up many of these feeders so I knew what I was doing. After feeding time there is a pyramid of 3 dots. Each dot refers to how many times the drum will spin and drop food. So if you have a tiny bit come out 2 to 3 times, it will drop in burst to give every fish a chance to eat.The packaging, while not important to most, was the best I have seen for a feeder. It shows thought was given into the product, it does have a premium feel compared to others. The instructions were amazing and easy to follow.

I have never used an automatic feeder but this thing is very easy to program and use. I will be getting another one for my frog tank because it will make it beyond easy to use for feedings. It requires 2 AA batteries so no wall plug in (great for power outages if you wrap your tank to keep it insulated when power goes out).Programming: very easy to program there’s an option for current time, aquarium max temp, 3 feeding time options and 3 feeding dosage amounts.Feedings: you can program you feeder to feed your aquarium up to 3 different times throughout the day and it is based on military time (remember that when programming); as far as dosage options you can have it rotate 1,2,or 3 times to indicate how much food you want. On the top of the unit it has a sliding door (which you need to open because the unit doesn’t do it automatically); the door on the top slides nicely and allows it to be opened and closed with ease to regulate the amount of food that will drop out when rotating. They recommend 1 type of food for the unit so it can measure out the right amount of food – ***in the video I have dried blood worms and, the sliding door on the top is fully opened; it also rotated twice to indicate x2 feedings (my times will adjust but wanted to see how it worked and get it in the video)****The unit as a whole is so quiet you can’t hear it which is super nice.Temperature gauge: this connects to the unit very easily and has a sensor that you can suction onto your tank if you wanted (this is separate so you aren’t require to have it hooked up). If you put the sensor in and the temp drops it will make a noise so set your temp .5 or 1 degree higher so it doesn’t always go off.This is a great item and well worth the cost – I will get another one for my other tank because it is very easy to use. It attaches on the top side of your tank lid and has a plastic screw to rotate to adjust the size of your tank rim. Overall, I like it and will get another one.
