Fantastic blow-dryer brush, albeit a bit expensive
I like this hair drying brush. I hadn’t previously tried anything like it, but was interested since I don’t love traditional hair dryers. I found this to be more enjoyable to use. The brush part is nice quality and it glided through my notoriously tangly hair with ease. It was pretty comfortable to hold, though the base is quite a bit thicker than a traditional brush, curling iron, or straightener. I think it needs to be thicker at the bottom because that’s where it sucks in air for the blow drying. I held the brush closer towards the middle where it was a bit thinner around and that was more comfortable for me. It felt relatively lightweight, which initially made me think maybe the plastic was maybe on the cheaper side, but because of how it’s meant to be used, I realized you probably wouldn’t want heavier plastic. Overall, it seems to be well made, the cord is longer than other hair stying products I’ve previously used, and I also like the box that it comes in, which has a magnetic closure, so I feel like I will probably keep the box to store it. I do think the price is a bit high (currently $155), I feel like around $80-$90 would be more what I think it’s worth price wise, but it is around the same price point as Dry Bar’s other hair stying tools, and it’s still significantly cheaper than some other premium hair stying appliances. I give a solid 4 stars, the biggest factor for me being quality for the price. I would rate it 5 stars if it was priced under $100.

Don’t listen to the haters! Its gets hot. It’s light weight. It works better than the loreal or conair. They are crap compared to this. 4c 4z get this please!!

I still like their round brush better but this is a really solid tool
The dry bar one shot round brush is one of my favorite tools. I don’t find the cool shot to be cool enough and it’s somewhat unreliable in that I’ve had to replace one already but it was covered under warranty. The replacement is starting now to do the same thing but I use it all the time including traveling with it. Since I like it so much I was excited to try this for a different look.I was really happy to see that they seem to have improved the cool shot feature. While it doesn’t feel cold when turned back down it does at least feel noticeably less hot something that barely registered on my round brush. Unfortunately I think they traded one thing for another. I found the bristles on the paddle brush to have a harder time holding my hair. That is one of the things I like most about the round brush. It really grips the hair and holds tension on it to help make it as smooth as possible. It also helps work your way from underneath to create volume. I found I was only able to keep the tension on my hair with the paddle brush by holding the ends of my hair. I tried pressing it into the plate and holding it as I brushed through but ended up hitting the plate once and burning my hand. This means that it is really difficult to get the ends of your hair to do much other than stick straight out. I applied some oil to my ends and hit it again with the warm then cold and it helped a bit but it was definitely more work than the round brush version.Despite the challenges I really liked how fast it worked. It doesn’t allow for much variation in style like the round brush does. You just get STRAIGHT but it is faster. I can see me reaching for this especially on days when I am short on time but really need to wash my hair. It would also be good for traveling if you only want to bring one tool. I also think it will make a good quick touch up tool mid-wash. Overall I am still giving it five stars because I think Dry Bar has some of the best tools on the market and I have tried a lot of them both cheaper and much more expensive. I think Dry Bar tools are the perfect balance of value to results. I am not a fan of their hair products but the tools are staple in our house.

Not for extra thick hair
The bristles of this brush are pretty weak and don’t brush through really thick curly mixed hair. The drying power is also weak. It took a while to blow dry my hair compared to my other brush blow dryer by Revlon. That one is a fraction of the price and has sturdier bristles and better drying power. The small bristles inside of the big bristles also bent after the second use.
