    So far, so good.
I bought these for my dog to do nosework. She hates highly polished slick floors and refuses to walk on them. She won’t walk in the lobby of our local humane society when we go for classes. My instructor told me that when we start to do nosework trials some of the floors may be highly polished. She suggested booties since they are allowed under the rules. Since she only needs them for traction indoors I opted for the Hott Doggers. They work just fine. First, to fit fit them properly, I roll the cuff and part of the foot back to slip them on, then unroll them back up her “ankle” and make sure her foot is entirely to the end, then I gather the front of the fleece tightly and then wrap the strap around to the back, gathering the front and leaving the back fairly flat against her ankle. This seems to keep them on well and they don’t turn. In order to train her I use thin slices of hot dogs. My dog is very food oriented and amiable so your mileage may vary. I started with introducing the booties and rewarding her when she sniffed them. Then I touched her feet on top, hot dog, put her foot on one, hot dog and then slid one on her foot, hot dog, took it off, hot dog, etc. I repeated this. Eventually I put one on and took it off, hot dog, put both on her front feet, hot dog, led her around, hot dogs the entire time, took them off, hot dog. We eventually worked up to all four feet and hot dogs. She does lift the back feet a bit and did do a bit of prancing, but hot dogs distract really well. I lead her around with many hot dogs and they distracted enough she started to walk normally. Did this for a few days. Finally I harnessed her up for nosework and put the bootie on with hot dogs. I used hot dogs paired with odor and rewarded her with hot dogs when she alerted. After a few days she didn’t pay any attention to the booties. They are now part of her “uniform” and when she has her harness and booties on, it’s time to play the “smelly game.” It takes patience, repetition and going one little step at a time. If you don’t rush the process, your dog should learn to tolerate these just fine. If they balk, then go back to a previous step. After a few weeks I am going to take my dog to try out the humane society lobby. Once she understands that these booties will give him traction on slick floors, she shouldn’t have a problem with any floors we may encounter in trials. I don’t know how long these will last, we will be using them indoors only. But should they wear out I would not hesitate to buy her another pair.*update* She had her Clove and Anise ORT and passed both. She was wearing her Hott Doggers and did not even hesitate to cross the foyer of a building she has previously laid down at the door and refused to cross. Hott Doggers a success. She is now certified for NACSW scentwork trials and will be wearing her Hott Doggers for both NACSW and AKC trials from now on. I have no doubt that should she need other booties for any other purpose, such as for snow, no additional training will be involved. I would absolutely buy another MuttLuks bootie for her.

dog slippers to protect wood floors
I purchased the slippers to prevent scratches on our new wood floors. Our dog is 55 lbs. of muscle and sometimes hyperactive. Unfortunately, even with careful manicures, he creates long gashes in our floor from running and sliding. We were only able to put the front slippers on Cooper because he resists slippers on his back feet. When the slippers stay put they do prevent scratches, but he often wiggles out of one or the other throughout the day. His dew claw seems to be right where the slipper’s strap encircles his ankle. The more expensive kinds have elastic at the opening; in hindsight, I realize the importance of the fit. I do like that they are washable and seem to be comfy on. He will give me a baleful look when I velcro them on, but after that he will ignore them.

Good to have for my dog with sensitive feet and nails that wear too quickly.
These are not the sturdiest dog boots you can find but so far they are the most comfortable for my 55 lbs Old English Sheepdog with sensitive feet and nails that wear readily to the quick. I have tried many other brands and styles and these are the only ones he will wear without trying to constantly take off. They stay put on his feet pretty well. I do need to adjust them periodically but not so often that it disrupts our walk. They are not waterproof. I bought a replacement pair after I walked about 10-15 miles total with my dog on pavement and gravel (he doesn’t usually need to always wear them so the boots lasted a long time). A few small holes appeared. Depending on the condition of his feet, I can keep using them some more for mild protection even with the small holes. In his case, they were good to keep his nails from wearing down too fast on the hard surface of the paved paths. They last much longer on snow or dirt. The boots are fine to throw in the wash. The seams and color stayed intact and there was no noticeable shrinkage. I avoided the dryer and air-dried mine just in case.

    Unfortunate
Being an international buyer, I was disappointed. Unfortunately they are a large sizing and what’s pictured is not what was sent. The ones I received had ribbing at the top yet the photo here does not have ribbing. I have had these boots (in the photo) before for my little dog and the sizing and fit was great but not the same with what was sent to me.

    Work great + affordable
We have 3 medium sized dogs who quickly start limping when the snow gets in their paws. I did not want to spend a ton of money on boots for them and the regular Muttluks can each cost as much a a pair of MY shoes. I decided to give these a go and could not be happier. Being short, they are easier to get on than the regular Muttluks (we do own 1 pair of those) and the dogs appreciate the least amount of fussing with their feet, so we’re all happy. Sometimes they lose one or 2 in the deep snow, but it’s not often enough to say they aren’t doing a great job.

    Bulldogs don’t like these!
I bought these dog boots for my two bulldogs. We have tile and wooden floors and they often slip when walking. As they are getting older, I thought that these boots would help provide them a little more stability. The product itself seems ok, but my bulldogs (neither one) would wear these. In fact, within seconds they both had them off. Both bulldogs were able to pull the velcro strap with their mouths and release their paws very easily. I put them on them a couple of times in hopes they would tire of me putting the boots back on, but they insisted on keeping them off. In the end, buying this was a waste of money.

    Great purchase
I bought these little boots for my 60 pounds black lab mix since his nails were so loud on the floor. He was walking the baby up alot and we needed sleep! These boots are genius. You just slide them on and wrap the velcro around the dogs ankle. He walked weird when we first put them on but he got use to them after a few minutes. It was so funny to walk him walk with the boots on. I love this purchase. We just put them on him when we are trying to get the baby to sleep and he wears them up til she walks up. Everyone is happy and it’s great.

I have had this product for years for my dogs. They are wonderful and they will save your hard wood floors from dog nails. Our dogs are trained to know exactly where they can walk and where they must have their boots on. I highly recommend these different types of boots for indoor and outdoor wear.

I was looking to purchase the brand “Muttluks” so I was under the impression that these were muttluks with the title. I didn’t realize until after I got them in the mail. They are okay quality but not long enough on my dogs arms. Shipping was very fast!

Excellent product very comfortable for dog and easy to care for. Dries quickly. Stands up to rough and tumble of spaniel. Helps protect wound on paw. Only problem was strap wears easily but with velcro on top solves problem. Would recommend.
