I’ve always had the octagonal collapsible kennels but wanted something less circular shaped to fit in my livingroom for when our cat was spayed and needed to stay confined for a few days. The round kennels (various brands) are waterproof on the bottom, taller, and much more durable than this rectangular one, hence the 4 stars. This rectangular kennel is very thin on the bottom with no waterproof coating so we used piddle pads. I would use it for a cat or two, and for a poultry brooder on certain surfaces, but it would have to be a docile dog to use this for dogs. The kennel pictured here is size LARGE. It was a little bigger than I expected, but any big dog would not be able to sit up in it. A couple cats or mamma with kittens or two small dogs could fit. This rectangular kennel is very compact, which I do like. Makes it good for storage or travel.

Sent damaged open box. UPDATE – received replacement
This product would have been perfect if not for receiving a damaged open box item.UPDATE – vendor reached out and replaced the kennel. The kennel received was new in box, it assembled easily and will do exactly what we intended. We will use this outside of a camper for an elderly small pet that does not hear or see as well and needs a safe confinement space when we are outside.

Works great for our kitty.
We have a cat that is older and went blind. She makes her way through the house fine but only has certain areas that she goes. When she was younger and could see she loved sitting on the porch and just relaxing as she has never been an active cat and has always been lazy. This portable playpen is going to work great for her to be able to go outside and get some fresh air and sunshine and not have to worry about her getting spooked by the dogs and running off and not being able to find her way back. We tried it out today and she really looked like she enjoyed it as it is the first time she’s been outside in well over a year. It is convenient to be able to open the top and place a little blanket inside for her to snuggle on and zip her up and just let her enjoy the day while we are out in the yard working or just relaxing. It is simple to set up and packs down into a small round bag when not in use and could be taken along on trips which is nice. Really cool little portable crate and kitty cat approved.
