Lasted not even a car ride.
I like to keep a leash on my dog when we are in the car. She chewed it in 4 pieces before we got there. Glad I had a spare in the car!!

Little thinner than I like for comfort.
So the dog leash is very sturdy. It would definitely hold a lighter dog with no problem. The clasp and the stitching are all great. For me it is a little thin, as I have a lab puppy who is pulling and learning to walk with no pulling and it can hurt my hand. Once we get better trained it will probably be ok.However, I had to give it 4 stars, the leash arrived wet. Not from rain or anything the outside of the box was dry. The inside was wet from the leash. The chemicals used to stain or treat the leather were still wet. There were wet spots inside the box where the leash was coiled. Not sure why they would ship it like this. I let it sit out in the sun for a few days and dry out.

Nice if you need a thin leash
This is just what I needed. I have a large male golden retriever so usually use a thicker leash for neighborhood walks but needed something thinner for obedience classes and this has been perfect!

Thin leash
If this leash were being ordered to use for a large dog, I would send it back immediately. The leather is only about a half inch in width from side to side, not enough strength for a dog with much weight or pull. Luckily my dog is only eighteen pounds, but the pup pulls a lot. So for me, this does not work.

Quality leash
Nice leather leash. It’s soft and feels quality and durable. It’s not crazy thick, but it’s worked great for my large German Shepherd. The hardware functions well and feels like it will hold up to pulling, sudden movements and use. It’s a nice looking, we’ll made leash. No complaints.

Strong, fashionable leather leash
It is fairly thick and feels strong. The hasp is solidly built also. It is certainly strong enough for small dogs but a medium dog with a strong desire to pull could break it. As can be seen in the photo with the box, the leash has not been fully dried after processing. It is actually 7/16 inch wide. It has faint chemical smell that could take a few days to dissipate. It’s color is a really nice rich brown.
