Happy chicken
One of my bantam chickens, Old Lady, is about 14 year old, which possibility means she is her 90s in human years. She suffers from arthritis and stumbles as she walk. Otherwise, she seems pretty healthy. My other chickens started to bully her once she had difficulty getting around, so I separated her from the flock, put her in her own pen and provided heated shelter for her. However, I found that her small waterer freezes during the winter months. I decided to order this small heated bowl unit for her and it works great.The base is sturdy and has sufficient weight to be stable. I am not worried about Old Lady knocking the bowl out of position. The cord is similar to other outdoor cords I have used in the past, and at over 6 feet long easily reaches the outlet. The stainless steel bowls have a large enough capacity that I need only refill them about once a week. They are easy to remove from the base and can be washed, when needed. I plan to use the unit throughout the winter, but will probably store it in the summer.We have had some below-freezing weather in the past week, and I noticed that the water in the bowl showed no ice, while another nearby unheated bowl was full of ice. I am confident that I have found the answer to providing Old Lady with water all day, even in cold weather. I have grown fond of her over the years, and want her to be as comfortable as possible.I highly recommend this heated bowl. It is well worth the cost of providing an outdoor animal (or chicken) with a reliable source of food and water, especially in winter. It is well made, and I really appreciate the cat collars that are included with the bowl. They would look cute on a cat, but, unfortunately, wonât fit a chicken.

Meets my needs
I bought this for $25 on the Black Friday sale. I use it in my outdoor rabbit hutch. Currently it is December 5th @ 1:30am in northern Wisconsin, 5° with a wind chill of -9. There is a thin coat of ice around the sides of the water bowl but it’s not completely frozen over (note: the bowl is in a wind exposed area). Earlier during the day it was 27° and the bowl had no ice. This heater does not necessarily keep the food noticeably warm but it does keep it from freezing for the most part. The only complaint I have is that im unable to get the bowls out of the holder. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

Does the job! Kitty’s love it!
We live in a place that already is in the 20’s at night. I have one kitty that insists on being outside most of the time. She has a heated dog house along with a heated bed inside. So needed something to keep her water from freezing if she wants to stay out. I was using a heated bird bath to put water in, but wanted to actually put it out in the yard for the birds to use. So when I saw this item I decided to give it a try. So glad I did! Not only can she have water that’s not frozen, but food also. The kitty’s love it! It has a super sturdy outdoor cord, like my outdoor warming beds. The bowls are easy to take out to keep clean. I will probably order another one to put out front for the strays. Thank you!

Scratched and used bowls/manufacturer defects for $27
12/5/24 doesnât seem to be a way to contact seller and itâs making a buzzing noise outside when I use it. When no food in there it does give off a burning smell which is a bit scaryAmazon what do I do?12/4/24 canât seem to find a way to contact the seller12/3/24 Received these today and upon opening the bowls are scratched and used. When I then tried to wash the one that looked used the stuff doesnât come off so itâs some how a manufacturer defect is my guess. For $27 thatâs not cool. Will try to contact seller but so far the system isnât showing me that option or option to return. Maybe I have to wait 24 hrs ð¤·ð¼ââï¸

Premium heated dish
I am very impressed by the build quality of this. Most heated bowls are simply a single flimsy water dish. The base on this is weighted nicely, eliminating worries about wind or being knocked over. This having two separate dishes would allow a person to have water and wet food in a bowl without it, freezing, or two bowls of water. It is small enough to be easily accessible for cats of all sizes.The balls can be removed, which simplifies cleaning.Being only 25 watts eliminates worries, we had about overloading an outdoor circuit, which also has a heated cat house plugged into it, and hopefully the lower power limit means that water will not evaporate as quickly from this dish as it can from a larger one which draws more power.We will be setting this up at a relatives home and using it in the harsh western Nebraska winter with water on both sides, and if it does not perform as expected, I will come back and update my review, but out of the box I am quite impressed.

I got this bowl to use feeding some neighborhood cats that come to my house. We’re in a colder climate and having a heated bowl to keep the water from freezing and offer them a warm treat on cold days is amazing!. You can set a pre-set temperature and change it according to the outside temperature is helpful. It’s very easy to clean and the cable that comes with it is a good quality, waterproof cable. You just have to make sure you can plug it into somewhere outside with a hood, or get one of those waterproof plugs for an extension cord or something to make sure it’s good for the outside. The food capacity is also really good, it’s a fantastic buy for anyone with outdoor cats!

stainless steel bowls fit snug
We have a different one of these heated pet dishes and they both work well and look about the same. What I like about this one is how snug the stainless steel bowls fit in their compartments. It also has a fairly decent cable length and the bowls are a larger size to support bigger or multiple pets. We have one of these on our back porch and one down by our basement door for the feral cats that stop by in summer or winter.
