Great Quality and Functionality
I have been using these Flexi leashes for three decades and they are great. They are retractable so they never get tangled up with your dog and they allow your dog to explore a circular area with a diameter of 52 feet. The thumb lock lets you lock the leash at any length and the lock is secure– that is, if you have a big dog and have to forcefully pull them away from something like another dog, the locking mechanism does not slip at all. You can set the lock to stay engaged or momentarily lock the leash which is a great option. I recommend that “tape” version versus the “chord” version. The latter can easily burn your leg if your dog runs after something and the chord is against your skin. This happened a couple times over the years. I switched to the tape version and have never had an issue since.

Flexi is the only brand of these to buy
We have multiple Flexi “brand” dog leashes. AND we have multiple other brands…that I have taken to Goodwill. Most of ours are the 16 foot models. This is the 25 foot model.Flexi is a German brand and extremely well made and easy and reliable to operate. None of the others are like that. They all suck or break or both… I got the others mostly in an emergency where I forgot the Flexi’s. Then you leave it like in a car and think, OH good, I have a leash in the car. Then comes the time to use it and you cuss as it either hangs up in the internal mechanism or starts to come apart.Flexi’s cost more but if you have to buy two or three to last as long then what have you saved particularly since they are going to give you fits even when they sort of work. WE literally have a couple that are 15 years old. We try to have a couple in each vehicle. They have “improved” them in the last couple years, but still sell the “classic” ones like this. I prefer the old “classic” version but the new ones are OK, just a bit different in how they work and seem a bit less robust on the outer part but then again, less subject to getting banged and breaking. I think internally they are the same and that’s the important part. So, it’s personal preference. But I do find the older ones cost a bit less, in general.I found this 25 footer and it was a great deal cost wise so I bought TWO for our crazy woman 50 lb wolf looking pup rescue. That’s how good a deal it was. She needs the length although she can build up speed fast and jerk your arm chasing most anything that moves. At least with these, they don’t break when she gets to the end. You just have a hurt shoulder. It’s better than breaking and her just keeping going. Ours is a runner so this is great.So, go Flexi is my recommendation always, look for some deals like this one was around half or more LESS than the stores… But even if you gotta spend full price Flexi is worth it.

Best retractable dog leash for large dogs
I tried several retractable dog leashes; however, none lasted except these XL Flexi for my large dog. These are by far the best in the market. I bought 2 of them over a year ago and they are still intact and working perfectly for my GSD.

Good colors, works well, doesnât tangle, my 2nd one! Locks well, small size has a big enough handle to attach a waste container to w a clip. Itâs comfortable and durable too. I tried a best seller at first but it was much too bulky and heavy so I returned for my favorite that had every feature one could desire! I would buy again.

The leash is very heavy but it is the strongest leash I’ve ever seen or used. The other leashes we have strain when trying to control our 105 lb dog but this leash stops him in his tracks when I push the stop button. Build quality looks and feels great but it only been 2 weeks. Saying that though I see no reason this leash won’t last a long time and the lead is capable of being relaced if it was to fray over time. I recommend this leash to anyone who has a large to xl dog but it maybe a little overkill for smaller dogs though it will work for all!!

Works great for my Siberian Huskies!
They work great for my 2 Siberian Husky sisters, particularly in large open areas. Love the extra length for more freedom to run in open areas. My previous XL size lasted 8 years and were great, but about 6 feet shorter then the current ones at 30 feet long. Florescent leashes are better so others can avoid getting caught by a leash while dogs are playing, and possible leash burns when wearing shorts! Nice grip & sturdy handles.

Works good, hope it lasts a long time
65# German shepherd/ draft mule. Its lasted a couple of months with her pulling very hard. Only issue is a slight fraying of the yellow tape, probably from from a tree or rock. She likes the ability to stop and investigate while I contines walking, giving her a 20 meter diameter circle to run.She gets up a good head of steam though and I have to be careful that she doesn’t pull it out of my hand or trip me, especially going down stairs.You have to unload the tension on the tape to engage and release the lock.

Muy resistente, ergonómica y fácil de manejar. El único problema que se ha presentado es que si se tuerce el cordón, se puede atorar y es difÃcil desatorarlo. Hay que estar pendiente que no entre torcido.
