Well, I was hoping, since Charlie has worn out his other scratching post, that he would take to the new one. I thought I would leave the old one for a few days and only keep new post. But, so far Charlie will only play with the balls on the bottom of post. The ones strategically placed in middle are ignored. It’s assembled now so not sending back. Hope Charlie will try new post someday. Maybe it’s because his worn out post is very thin compared to new. Enough said!

Large Cat Scratching Post
Pros first, this is a very tall cat scratching post with added hanging toy(s), spring toy (on the base) and two tiers of wooden balls integrated into the construction of the post at the bottom and in the middle of the post for interactivei play. The post is very sturdy, no wiggle or sway, the base holds it soundly in place, the carpet covering the base did need to be glued a bit, but that was no real concern (did not appear to be a manufacturing issue, more a packaging and shipping issue). Very well constructed, cats are using it to scratch already (an enticement of catnip was involved). I like this cat scratching post now that it is assembled, but assembly left something to be desired (see below).Cons, the instructions and the diagrams to include the pieces that are designated by letter/number are just not user-friendly or intuitive. The instructions are blurry, the pictures of the pieces are not very accurate, and overall it is up to the party constructing this to just kind of figure it out. I had to start over again three times before it was fully assembled and ready to place in front of the couch arm.
