Does not dig into your hand
Hard part about really frozen ice cream is trying to jam a spoon into the solid block without leaving a dent in your hand. The thick rounded end of this ice cream scoop prevents your hand feeling like it is suffering just to have a bowl of ice cream. The business end is very well shaped to curve into the ice cream. Wobbling it back and forth a bit allows it to slide into the substance and create a scoop which is then easily extracted from the mass. In other words — it works really well. Easy to Use
I have used a large spoon to dig out ice cream for most of my life. Sometimes if the ice cream is really hard it was difficult to get a good scoop. I have also bent several spoons using this method. Then a friend brough a scoop like this one to use for a birthday party. I was so surprised at how easy it was to get nice scoops out and into the serving dish. No more bent spoons for me.
