Customers say
Customers find the scratch post sturdy and durable. However, some customers report that it doesn’t stay upright leaned against a wall, even with grippers on the edges. They also dislike the safety for cats and how it’s used. There are mixed opinions on functionality, appearance, value for money, and size.

Great little scratcher, just lay it on the floor. Cats stand on it and hold it steady.
I’m tired of the mess that cardboard scratchers make, so tried this one. There’s NO chance of this being used while leaned against a wall. It’s too light and will fall and scare your cat. I had no intention of using it against the wall and planned to lay it on the floor. It does not lay completely flat, so it rattles a bit when used. My three cats use it all the time. It’s in muted colors, which is great. Much better than the gaudy cardboard boxes that don’t go with any decor. I’m going to order a couple more to put in several rooms. I have wall mounted ones too, but these will be unobtrusive in the living areas where company can see them. The fabric is going to hold up well for a long time. Three cats have used the one for many weeks, many times a day, and it looks just like when it arrived. Nice and neat with no mess.Update: Purchased three of these in January 2021, it’s now June 2023. My three cats still use these multiple times a day and they still look the same as when new. I lay them on the floor, out of the way like under the pool table, for example. They stand on them, so their weight holds them steady. They are not messy at all. These should NOT be advertised as leaning against the wall. Way too light for that but perfect for putting on the floor. Also, NO color choice is a bad decision. They should be neutral colors like black, gray, beige, brown. Two of mine are dark blue and one is gray.

Doesnât stand well on carpet, not solid color
This is in a room with a shag area rug. Not stable enough to stand on the carpet, but it works pretty well laying on the floor in the gap area between the carpet and the wall where I tried standing it up. All my cats love scratching this and just climb completely on top of it, it looks like theyâre even trying to use their back paws sometimes. One major nitpick, itâs not a solid dark color like in the picture. Itâs super dark gray at one end and about halfway down it turns into a combo of maroon with a bit of beige. Almost returned it based on that but the colors work ok in my room (and letâs be honest, the cats donât care!)

not grey
no where does it mention you will received various colors, nor is there a choice to choose your colorsâ¦so i expected 3 grey colored ones like shown in pic, what i received instead is 2 very ugly darkish green colored ones and 1 not as ugly lighter green colored one⦠these also do NOT stay leaned on wall if you have hardwood floors, not a surprise considering there is no real gripping rubber on foots, it is a hard version that slides.. catnip seems to be non existing for no cat went nuts until i rubbed cat nip on them.. currently sitting here looking at 2 of the 3 scratchers being unused since after the first hour they arrived earlier today.. although they look good (would look much nicer in the grey i thought i was receiving), they arenât really scratchers to our current 8 of our 9 four legged creatures, at best they are for rubbing their faces on and based on the smaller tortoise cats, for laying on too..for the $9 i paid however, they are well worth the money even if two of the color is ugly to us (weâre not fans of dark/faded dirty green colors in our house).. i gather if i buy catnip spray, these will be getting used more often. one of these doesnât look put together well on back side and if you are not a fan of staples, there are tiny/small ones on back side as well.. if this cost your normal around $20-30 these types of long scratchers go for, iâd be returning them..

Loved by declawed cat
My cat absolutely adores this scratching post. When I adopted her, I was told that her original owners had her declawed. For the record, I am absolutely opposed to this procedure, but declawed cats need homes too, and she was so shy I feared that she might spend a long time in the shelter. I adore this cat so naturally I began researching ways to make her life better/easier. Declawed cats still have the instinct to scratch and use their front claws, even though their claws are no longer there, and the sisal scratching posts like she has on her cat tree are uncomfortable and difficult for a declawed cat to grip. I had read that carpet scratching posts can be better for declwaed cats, because the carpet is softer on their paws and easier for them to grip. After doing a bit of searching, this was the best looking option I found. It’s of a sturdy construction, the whole middle being wrapped in carpet with hard plastic end caps. The end caps also have little rubber feet on them to prevent the board from slipping and sliding on the floor or the wall. Initially, I had it leaned against the wall, like a “typical” scratching post. However, she showed no interest for a couple of weeks, so I laid it flat on the floor. Once she figured out she could use it to “scratch”, she went nuts for it. She likes to sit on top of it and scratch the length of it, sure, but its circumference is also small enough for an eight pound cat to wrap her body around. Because of this, she likes to flop over and hold the whole thing like a kick toy, where she tears it up with her back claws and teeth. She has also been rubbing her face and body all over it. I have not had it long enough to speak to its long term durability, but so far I have absolutely no complaints. I would highly recommend, especially if you have a declawed cat who dislikes other scratching materials or surfaces.

El peso no es suficiente para sostenerse pero el material y tamaño son ideales, los gatos lo aman porque seguro piensan que es mi sofá jaja

A well made item but in spite of my dousing it with copious amounts of catnip spray, Izzy is not even remotely interested and continues to scratch the wooden furniture

My cat absolutely LOVES this thing. It doesn’t stand up very well, but I’ve put in flat on the floor for her and she uses this as her hangaround place. She sleeps here, scratches at it, everything. She loves this and it has held up incredibly well considering the abuse she hurls at it.Definitely worth the money, and I’d definitely recommend this to anyone considering purchasing it.

My cat is a fussy scratcher and will only dig her claws into horizonal carpeted surfaces – so this was a great option to save my rugs.Build quality: Built like a brick with decent weight to help keep the scratcher in place. The carpet wraps around and is fixed to the centre using industrial staples which have yet to be dislodged by my cat.Looks: The carpet print seems to be selected at random and reminds me of a retro motel or old Blockbuster store. You’re going to take a gamble on the gaudiness so this product is probably not best for the enthusiast interior designer. The print doesn’t line up at the seam if you care about those types of details. The rubber grips are also embossed with cute paw prints.Durability: Look, my cat goes at this thing like a maniac for about an hour a day and I’m yet to see any sign of wear and tear three months later. Could probably drop this thing off my roof and the only thing that’ll be damaged will be the floor.Highly recommend this scratcher to anyone with cat who favours horizontal surfaces. It is advertised as a leaning post but as per other reviews there is no way it’ll stay in place unless you go to lengths to fix it upright. But for the purpose of a ground scratcher, you really can’t beat this price and quality.
