One of the best things I’ve ever bought
One of my top purchases. I bought this to help with my new dog, a rescue. He’s a fairly large, young dog, and whoever had him before me evidently let him do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted to do it. He was completely untrained except for being housebroken, which was a nice surprise. Anyway, I was having a lot of trouble with him paying attention to us when we told him to do or not do something. If he wanted to do whatever it was, there was no stopping him. He was going to do it no matter what we tried. He was really bad about jumping up on you and he was relentless about getting into the trash and eating paper, rubber gloves and whatever else he fancied. I tried everything I could think of but was having a LOT of trouble with him. A neighbor suggested a collar like this, and after resisting the idea for a while, I thought that it would be inhumane, I decided to try it out. Well, let me tell you, after a few weeks, he is a different dog. He still has a way to go, but at least with the help of this collar, he’s on his way to being a real pleasure to have around. When I first got the collar, I tried it on myself to see how it would feel to him. The static shock goes from 1-99. I tried it on me from 1-5 and couldn’t go any higher. When I use it on his bad behavior I haven’t had to go any higher than 3 or 4. The only thing I’ve had to do differently is, when hes being especially hard headed, is to wet his neck under the collar so that the pulse gets through the fur to his skin, which is no problem since the collar unit is waterproof. Now, all I have to do is to use the beep/vibrate functions and he straightens right up and listens to what we say to him, (most of the time, anyway). The shock doesn’t really hurt him. It’s uncomfortable, yes, but not as bad as I thought it would be before I finally gave up and bought the collar on Amazon. I was on the verge of giving up on him and taking him back to the Humane Society as a result of his over the top bad behavior. This collar has been the one product that I have tried on him that really makes a difference. I would whole heartedly reccommend it, with one caveat. Before you put it on your dog (or boyfriend or girlfriend, ha) try it on yourself so you know what they are feeling. After a surprisingly short period, it will make a tremendous difference in their bad behavior. It’s very rare now that I have to resort to the static shock. Usually the beep, vibrate ot the combination beep/vibrate function is all that is needed to let him know that you are serious and he listens to what you’re saying. It has REALLY made a difference and I have had zero problems with it so far after about a month of having it. The battery life is great. I charge it up about once a week. ive had no problem with the range but havent had to try it further than about three hundred feet, so I have no idea of the effective range limits. It will work through the house walls as i have had to use it to quiet him from incessant barking at night when we first brought hin home. After a few weeks of using it, there are times I don’t even have to use it. All I have to do when he’s being hard headed, is reach for the remote and if he sees me, he will straighten up, as he has connected the remote to the beep/vibrate/shock in his little doggie brain. My only suggestion is to use the shock function sparingly and only then after trying the beep or vibrate functions first. It wont take your pet long to realize that one leads to another if he or she doesnt behave. Never use it to punish your pet. Only use it as a training aid. There is always the possibility for misuse/abuse with this collar and others like it. Always supervise kids if they have access to the remote as they don’t realize or possibly don’t care about what it’s doing to your pet. Treat you animals like a part of your family because thats exactly what they are. Love them and they will always return that love tenfold.

Worked immediately!
We recently rescued this livestock guardian mix (very large and protective of the property). We spent a couple months with lots of crazed barking at anything that moved outside. I bought this collar and the handheld device as well. I havenât had to use the handheld correction device because the collar worked immediately. First time she barked and it vibrated she stopped. Itâs now been a very calm and quiet week of using the collar alone. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to correct without shock. I did test the handheld device on all 3 of my large dogs and they all reacted. I have no doubt it will work if/when I need it to prevent or stop a negative behavior.

Hunk of Junk (Updated Review)
I did a lot of research to find this bark collar. Every other collar I looked at had bad reviews about the collar malfunctioning and exploding on their dog. This is the only one I felt would be safe after my research. I’ve tried the collar on my yappy poodle mix and the difference was immediate. She quit barking at everything when the sound went off the first time and has been quiet since. I’m still trying to find the right level of sensitivity for her, but I am so happy with this product! It worked fantastically and is incredibly helpful!Update: It’s been slightly over a month of having these collars. I bought two for my very yappy dogs to help them learn to be quiet for apartment life. These collars no longer work. I changed the batteries, changed the prongs, and changed the position on the dogs. Their barking won’t set the collars off consistently anymore, if it does at all. They are going back to barking just like they did before. The collars worked just long enough to put me out of the return window. I’m now out $60 on what have now become two expensive paperweights. Don’t waste your money on these things.

Actually works.
Our dogs bark for a living. While camping, if the dogs are always barking, we will be asked to leave. It was rare at the campground to hear our dogs bark and when the did, they shut up fast! When we got back home, all the needs to bark at the campground, were released AT home. Wow, this thing worked for both dogs and we never had to yell at the dogs. WOW.

The jingling of the dog tags on my dogs collar would set off the bark collar
This is a great collar to prevent barking, but the one thing that I noticed that I did not like was, I noticed my dog became confused when he was running around the jingling of the dog tags on his collar would set off the bark collar and so it kind of became confusing in that sense

Worked well until…
This collar was easy to use. Just pop in the battery, run the pre-test (directions easy to follow, and put it on your pooch. There is no remote to fiddle with. When the dog barks, the collar works automatically. It cycles through 7 stages if your dog continues barking. My dog really paid attention to the beep and then to the buzz. A peaceful walk ensued! However, this product states that it is waterproof. It is not! And, since we live at a beach and water is a part of our walks on any given day, the collar didn’t perform. Once wet, the collar just continued to buzz and buzz and buzz. The only way to get it to stop buzzing was to take the battery out…when we got back home from the walk.Needless to say, if you are not going to ever be near water to get it wet, it would work well. But since that’s not our situation, I will be returning it and ordering something else. Bummer!

This bark collar changed my dogs barking habit instantly. He Is quiet and more calm because of it. The sound/vibrate from the collar is safe yet effective in deterring his barking. Great product

It worked a couple of times then it would stop. I readjusted the strap and the settings which did not help much. It would go off when it shouldn’t, for example, when the dog was playing with a squeaky toy. I tried several different settings, from 1 to 7 and it would work once or twice then quit. I tested it by blowing in the hole and at times had no results. I bought a totally different unit with a remote.
