Actually Holds up
It’s been almost two months and I can just see where the bone has worn down. The down side to this is it is extremely heavy, not ideal to be leave around to step on, especially because of the way the bone breaks down. As they chew on it is almost peals away into tiny, tiny chunks. This is great compared to a kong stick that he had where he was swallowing large pieces of a rubber/plastic material. The downside is that as it “peals” it leaves the bone very sharp, with little spikes around where they chew. So far my dog doesn’t seem to mind and it doesn’t seem to make his mouth bleed or anything so that’s a minor negative. Just don’t stub your toe on it! Trust me!Overall after trying multiple brand/types and flavors this is the only one that gets my seal of approval.
I must say I had low expectations when buying this bone based on prior experience of similar products. I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. I bought this bone off Amazon in the beginning of December, I wanted to wait a while for my review to see if it would actually hold up. So far so good. There are several factors that set this bone above similar products.First let me be clear that this is the Beef bone not the chicken etc. (I’m told there is a huge difference)1. The first thing that impressed me is that my dog actually loves to chew on it. I know this may sound weird but I tried the puppy pack of nylabones and a bit larger one. He was interested in them but it didn’t last and he wouldn’t touch them anymore. This bone on the other hand is his absolute favorite. He carries it around everywhere. Even though it’s beef flavored it doesn’t have a noticeable smell or residue and it doesn’t get slimly like a real bone.2. This bone is extremely durable. I have a chew happy 10 month old lab puppy with razor teeth and majoring chewing skills. Trust me, my ruined shoes are proof

Perfect
Our German Shepherd is really enjoying chewing on this bone. This is the first time I knew about an extra extra large, tough bone. I love it and will not get a smaller size due to the fact large dogs tend to chew off and making it rough on their gums. He will be able to chew this bone for a very long time without chewing through it. I feel it is worth the extra money compared to the large bones. It truly is extra extra large and will last A lot longer than any others I have purchased

This is one tough bone!
We have a power chewer. He has gone through so many toys and bones. This is the second time we have bought this bone. The first one lasted SO long and we were so happy with it, we bought another. It took several months for our pup to work down the end of the bone to the point where it needed replacement. If you have a power chewer and need a bone that will keep him/her happy, try this one!

WONDERFUL DOG BONE

Great for Power Chewers
My dogs love these bones. My smallest dog at 34 lbs seems to prefer this bone over smaller ones. They do wear down over time and I am sure the shavings are swallowed but it has seemed to hurt my dogs. It keeps them busy and it lasts for months.

Great for chewers
I have a 13 month old 56 lb boxer/rottie mix who is a medium chewer and this bone is great for him. No splintering, doesn’t make a mess, and hard enough to make him work without any danger of him breaking teeth, getting cut, or choking. We gave it to him a couple of weeks ago and based on wear I’m confident it will last him a long time (many months at least). I was a little hesitant about giving my animal a product that contained nylon, but after a scary experience giving a rawhide bone to a previous foster dog, I was told this was a much safer option and now I agree.This bone is very dense and very hard, so it makes an awful noise when my dog drops it on my hardwood floor. We are also careful to make sure he doesn’t drop it on our bare toes, because that would be quite unpleasant. Be aware that the chewed edges also get really rough because of the way the bone wears, so they can become a magnet for dog hairs or fabric threads. This hasn’t been a problem for us (we just encourage our pup to chew it on his bed and take it away from him when we are watching a movie so the noise isn’t bothersome), but it is good to know.Update: We’ve had Winston for 5 months now and in that time he has gained 5 lbs of muscle. He loves his Nylabone! It is still going strong and I think he will be able to use this well through his one year adoptiversary. The only issue we have with this bone is that the edges can get sharp and sometimes will cut his mouth. He doesn’t notice and just wants to keep chewing, but we usually take the bone away at that point for a bit. My boyfriend has taken the bone and used a power sander on it a few times now to remove all the sharp edges. We only have to to in once every couple of months but it makes a big difference.

These last forever!
I buy one of these every year for my cousin’s dog and he absolutely loves it. The only negative is after so much chewing, some little sharp areas are possible but that can be remedied by filing them a bit where needed.

This is our new go to bone. I used to give my dog benebones but they seemed to be too soft and easy for him to get pieces off and accidentally swallow. This size bone is so large for him and hard that he doesnât have this problem and my dog chews on it every day
