Very nice puzzle bowl feeder
Our 2 1/2 year old female GSD has always eaten like a starved velociraptor., and lately, she has started regurgitating her entire meal â¦sometimes even an hour after eating (look up megaesophagus). To combat this and get her to slow down, we got this âpuzzle bowlâ so she is forced to take smaller bites. The bowl is very nice stainless steel with a rubber or silicone ring on its bottom. The bottom of the silicone insert is covered with small suction cups that keep the dog from pulling it outâ¦in fact, it takes a pretty good grip to remove it from the bowl for cleaning, and thatâs ok. The insert has deep valleys and crannies that occupy her for quite a while to work out the last morsel. Our dogs are only fed raw meats with a dehydrated veggie and nut base mix that is rehydrated with water before serving. We have never seen her lie down to work on her food, and so far, after three days, no regurgitation.

The 5 cups bowl really only fits 4 cups, otherwise itâs good.
As the title says, I got the pink 5 cup version because my dog eats 4 cups worth of food and I wanted her to have some extra space so that it wouldnât be filled to the brim with food. Unfortunately, I think the company only measures the amount the bowl itself can fit without taking into account how much space the slow feeder attachment will take up. So, because the attachment takes up a decent amount of space, the bowl is full to the brim with 4 cups of food. Despite this, itâs still a lovely and pretty bowl, as well as very easy to clean.

It works!
It seemed like this was going to be too small, and I was generally skeptical. But after a month or so there has been no barfing and it has gone from 90 seconds to about 5-8 minutes eating time. The quality is fine (Iâm fussy) and I would buy it again. Got the medium size and use a bowl stand. Normal portion is 2/3 of a cup. 60 lb Australian Shepherd

Works as described but incredibly difficult to remove and clean
It works exactly as advertised. It goes into your existing dog bowl and slows down meal time. It does that well.The problem, in my case at least, is that the gravy and saliva make this thing nearly impossible to grip to remove from the bowl for cleaning. I had to let it soak in soapy water in order to separate it from the bowl. My dog is not an excessively drooly dog.I also found that even though it seemed to fit well in my existing dog bowl food managed to get underneath it. It’s a tad wasteful and made it that much more difficult to clean.It’s not a poorly made product, just perhaps needs some more thought. It may work well for your needs, it did not for mine.

Perfect but would love an extra puzzle insert
It would be nice to be able to purchase just the silicone insert for swapping out for washing and because I donât need a bowl. The stainless steel bowl is nice but the size selection didnât match our bowl holder so just another unused bowl in our collection!

Really small – misleading sizes
These bowls definitely donât hold the amount of food that they claim to. I ordered 3 and had to return them all because they wouldnât work for my dogs.
