    Great scratcher
This is my 3rd time purchasing this!!!! My cat loves this scratcher and yes it doesn’t last forever obviously but now you can buy replacement poles I just figured that out 😂! My cat is 9 and he’s about 17 lbs this is a great height for him

    Cat loves it
My cat can be pretty picky when I buy things for her, but she definitely enjoys this scratching post. It was easy to assemble, seems to be pretty sturdy even when placed on a medium-thickness rug, and hasn’t disintegrated within the first couple of months.

Great buy for $25. Thin material but sturdy.
Sturdy & rope attached well, base is particle board, so it falls easily cuz not heavier. I have the back edge under cabinet lip. Good buy for $25. BUT ball came off at first swat (will sew a new one) & base carpet is thin as ball material. One scratch will take it out. Be prepared to replace carpet maybe. Not hard though. But cats usually don’t scratch base.Usually.😉

    Cats LOVE it!
When the first one arrived it was missing the bolt that fastens the two poles together, so I just left the top part off. Months later, when they had destroyed the pole, I replaced it with the top pole. I’m sure it’s an illusion, but it seems to last a very long time by using half of the pole at a time.My two cats just love this pole. The smaller one frequently sits on the platform and wraps all four paws around the post.Using the single pole changes the center of gravity, so the platform stays wherever I place it. The only “maintenance” necessary is vacuuming up cat claw sheaths. The coupon is tempting me to purchase our third one to keep in reserve.

    Cat loves. It
This product is a must have. My cat is 15 and he started to scratch my brand new expensive furniture. What was I going to do, I’ve tried sweating product in the past and he.countless use them. I purchased this scratching post and I will never be without them. He is.in love with them. He never touches the furniture and when he uses it he has to look a at us because he seems to be proud of himself for using it. Definitely a keeper. Will keep on purchasing them

    Nice but wobbles too much!
It’s long enough for my cat to stretch out all the way on it when she scratches and it takes her clawing like a champ, but it wobbles whenever she tries to use it. No matter how much I tighten it and even if she’s standing on the base when she does it, it doesn’t stay firmly planted. So she doesn’t use it a whole lot. It was so close to perfect, I feel like it just needs to he a bit heavier to be more firmly planted.

    My second one
This is my second purchase. The cats loved the first one so much, they broke it in half, so I had to get a second one. It’s very sturdy and my cats use it multiple times each day. The first one fell during a rough play session between the cats and dogs, and broke in half, otherwise it would still be here. The roping is very durable and all the scratching doesn’t seem to harm it. I have larger cats and it is tall enough for them to stretch all the way up. Easy to assemble and is stable on its base.

I think it’s a good value, no complaints.
PRODUCT LISTING IS NO LONGER THE PRODUCT I PURCHASEDNormally I wouldn’t post a review of this before even cat-testing it, but this product has 0 reviews as of right now, so I figured I’d at least give my first impressions. I will try to remember to update once it’s been scratched a bit.First, some specs. The base is 16″ x 16″ chip-board. Post is 3″ diameter, 32″ tall. There rope has 6 windings per inch, (~4mm diameter rope). Toy on the top is soft faux fur with on 6″ of string. No assembly instructions included, but it’s really self-explanatory.Parts:- Base: Comes as 2 halves connected together by the faux fur stapled to it. There’s a hole through the seam between the two pieces, countersunk for a washer and bolt head. Photo will explain better.- Bottom Pole: 3″ diameter x 15″ length, threaded nut built into both ends.- Top Pole: 3″ diameter x 15″ length. Top has faux fur and a danging toy. The top is not solid or removable. It feels like the fur is wrapped over plastic, makes a crinkling sound when you press on it.- “Connect Board”: a wooden ring with a hole in the middle, covered with faux fur.- Allen-head bolt- Threaded rod- Large washer- Allen key.Assembly:- The base is split in two, but the carpet does not have a hole in the center. You’ll need to cut one. Easiest way I found is to fold the two halves of the base together and use scissors to cut a small slit in the fur from the back.- Thread the bolt and washer from the bottom through the base, and into the bottom pole. Tighten with the allen key. Make sure the halves of the base are even.- Thread the rod into the bottom pole, add the “connect board”, then thread the top rod onto it. I don’t think there’s a stop for how deep the rod goes, so try to keep it so that the same amount goes into both poles. Tighten by spinning the top pole.- You could also assemble this using only the top pole to make it 16″ tall if you wanted. It looks pretty much exactly like the product picture. It’s a really really cheap design, but it looks nice enough. I figured why spend $50 on something that is going to get destroyed anyway? I think this will actually be very easy to maintain/repair, though for the price it may be a wash whether to repair or just replace. The base plate can be easily replaced by anything you want, provided you can drill a hole through it for the bolt. The poles seem to be pretty standard rope-wrapped-around-cardboard-tube.It seems quite stable. With no weight on it, I’m able to tip the base up until one side is about 12″ off the ground (about 50 degrees) before it topples over instead of righting itself. The fur on the base wraps around, so I think there’s minimal risk of scratching the floor. But that does mean that it will slide around a lot. Might be worth adding some rubber feet if this will be on hardwood or tile so the cat doesn’t have to chase it around. Or maybe that will be fun.Overall, it’s about what I expected and looks to be a pretty good value.UPDATE: I’ve had this post and my cat for about a month. It took her a little while to get used to it, but she now American Gladiator style climbs right up the post and dives off it. It seems to be holding up just fine. HOWEVER, because the product listing is now completely different than the one I bought, I’m dropping the rating all the way down, since it’s not even the same product anymore.
