Does the job
My kittens were going where they shouldn’t, and this definitely helps keep them out. The size is great, a sturdy material. You get several pieces for the price. They are clear, so can blend in but not the most attractive. Easy to use, decent thickness

I have a head strong American Bombay that loves to chew on wires, and a lab that thinks she has an inalienable right to sleep on my furniture. After hundreds of dollars in damaged wires and hours of cleaning stinky chairs, I finally gave up scolding them and decided to give these mats a try. My first impression of them are that they seem flimsy and cheap, so I doubt they would last long outdoors. Keep in mind they are plastic, not vinyl, so the material is fairly stiff. The spikes are uncomfortable, but I don’t think they would be penetrative unless you hit them suddenly with a lot of force (like slapping hard with a hand), and I don’t see a cat or dog managing that, although you definitely want to show your pet the location of the mats so they don’t get surprised.I found I could roll the mats into a tube, and with the spikes from below inserted into the hollow of the spikes on top, it holds together well without tape. This was pretty convenient for placing behind furniture. After placing the mats, the results were immediate. My cat stopped getting behind my entertainment center to chew on wires, and my dog has learned to stay off the chairs and couch. I sometimes also use the mats as an “area of denial” when I want to keep animals away from tables that they could bump and cause items to fall over. If you cut out a hole in the center, you could easily use them around pots to keep pets from chewing on your plants.These mats may not seem very durable, but they get the job done, and if you use them indoors, I don’t think you’ll have issues with them falling apart. If you need something for the outdoors, you may want to get scat mats made of vinyl.

ACTUALLY WORK !
I was a bit skeptical with purchasing the spikes, but I am glad I purchased them. It does keep the kittens away from coming into areas I donât want them going into. It comes with eight in a the pack and I do want to warn you. The spikes are very hard. They do not bend so if you have a little kiddos in the house. Please watch them around the spikes because my son stepped on the spikes and he got hurt but other than that it does keep the kittens away. Make sure you put three in a row because they will try to jump over it.

Good concept, but not always effective.
Good concept, I like that the panels interlock but you have to trim the flat edge for that to work. No biggie.My cat seems to not like walking on the surface, but certainly isn’t stopped by it. Maybe as cat gets older and has larger paws, they won’t fit between the spaces. But for now he seems to navigate through the panel just fine.

I was hoping for something heavier. They are really thin. Maybe 25 cents worth of plastic. My cat just moved them out of his way and went on his way as though they never existed. Needed some kind of grippers on the back just too slick.

Christmas tree skirt saved
