This is a very sturdy carrier. I opted for the larger one. It’s huge inside. It definitely would be a good idea to get some sort of mat to go inside of the carrier. Otherwise, I believe the animal will be sliding all over the place. .I like how the top of the carrier can be open. It’s a lot easier to put my cat in that way. I highly recommend this carrier. It’s worth the money. I was surprised that it was this affordable.One of the carriers was delivered without the front gate. I started a refund and the seller told me to keep the carrier and immediately sent out another one!! I like a seller that stands by their product and also response in a timely manner. Thank you!!

Looks good, seems solid
So far, I’ve assembled one and moved 3 cats, separately, on the property with it. Most pet carriers that have two doors, the top door opens to the side, functions smoothly, and stays open on its own so you can get a cat in or out. This one opens lengthwise, instead, and it’s not just a simple single move for one hand to open it. There are two separate little levers that have to be turned and moved back. When I then tried to open the top door, I did so tentatively and gingerly because it wasn’t a smooth operation and I didn’t want to break it. It opened a few inches then met resistance, so I opted to not use the top door.Other than that, there are a couple assembly notes. You need to seat the main front door prior to securing the sides. There are two plastic built-in clamps on each side that function well to hold the top and bottom securely together. There are also 6 bolts with nuts, 3 for each side, to hold the carrier together even more securely. the bolts insert from the top downward, and each of the nuts is held in place from turning by being set up into a small space in the plastic carrier. You can drop the bolt in place, and the bottom of the bolt has just enough room for you to start the nut at the bottom of the space that secures the nut. Get the nut just barely started on the bolt, then use one hand to hold the nut up into the small compartment that keeps it from turning, and use the other had to turn the bolt clockwise. Turning the bolt while the nut can’t turn draws the nut upward on the bolt until the bolt is held securely in place. I used a cordless drill with a screwdriver bit, which made the process of inserting and tightening the bolts a fairly quick and easy job. I took a quick look at the assembly instructions, but didn’t see hints on how to attach the nuts and bolts, which is why I’m explaining a way to do it, here. One of the cats went a little nuts inside the carrier while being carried across the yard, and the carrier held up well to his shenanigans. The one concern would be that a cat could potentially reach out to scratch you when you use the mechanism to latch or unlatch the front door, but that’s the case with most pet carriers. I’d recommend the carrier, but probably not if using the top door smoothly and easily is important to you.

This is the upgraded version of a carrier that I purchased about 7 years ago. The top is connected to the bottom in this model with screws and plastic nuts. I think that this is a big improvement over the “snap-on” plastics connectors in the older model, which all started to “fail” in the last year. So I am hoping that this carrier will last 8 to 10 years, and that my sweet kitty will still be with me at that time. I also like the way the door can open from either side, although in this size of carrier that would not be as much of an advantage as in a larger carrier.
