Training Pads are ideal for puppies and dogs that stay indoors for long periods of time. What you should do; Unfold the training pad and place it in a confined area. (Blue plastic side down). It is important to place your puppy or dog on the training pad several times a day in order to get him used it. on the average, a puppy must relieve himself every few hours, based on his age (a 2 month old puppy every 2 hours, a 3 month old every hours etc). If your pet relieves himself somewhere other than the designated spot where the pad is placed, bring him back to the correct spot immediately. Keep in mind that your pet will have to relive himself shortly after a meal and will need to eliminate more frequently during the summer when his water intake is higher. The minute your dog begins to relieve himself on the pad, be sure to use cures like “go potty”. You should use this cue every time that your dog relives himself on the pad so that he associates the phrase with the action of elimination. Every time that your pet used the pad successfully, make sure that you give him a treat and lots of praise. Treating helps your dog to understand that he is doing what you want him to do. Always remember to dispose of soiled pads and replace them as needed. When your pet begins to relieve himself on the pads, on consistent basic, it is time to begin moving the pad closer to the door. Keep moving the pads closer to the door until they are actually outside. At this time, the training process will be complete.

among this lower quality tier, these are super budget friendly and do a fine enough job
These are super basic. They are not great, but they are budget friendly. I have used all types of puppy pads, and some of the very expensive ones may have an added benefit, but not enough for me to keep buying them. These.. well, the price is right. I have them for my elderly cat who does not want to use a litter box despite having them in various convenient locations and kept super clean. So, since she likes going on a puppy pad and seems pretty consistent with using them, I go ahead and buy them. I go through a lot. Here are my thoughts on why I think they are worth the purchase: Yes, they are thin, they can leak (see below), and that they *should* have a better quality being the AKC brand. However, these are just like the other cheap ones in its category- thin, can leak, no frills. Yet, these are cheaper than the cheapest among other cheap, low quality brands. SO, for a purchase within the category of CHEAP, BUDGET puppy pads, these stand out in terms of price (since they are same as other cheapies). NOW, compared to another quality/price tier of puppy pad– where they are thicker, perhaps more absorbent, might have carbon, and multiple layers, and draw moisture away from top.. they are pretty good.. but also priced way way more. It is a toss up. What are your needs? Kinda like 1 ply smooth commercial TP vs triple ply multi textured TP. Both work, one you may use more of, the other you will pay much more for. Both are fine depending on needs and preference. As for the leaking.. I notice that is more a matter of WHERE the urine is deposited and how much. If the urine comes out quick with decent volume AND it is near or on the edge of the pad.. then, yeh, it will leak to the floor. I haven’t noticed it leak directly through when the pee is in the middle. I tend to put down a few layers at once just so I can “grab and go” the spent puppy pad. Sometimes I put down a reusable puppy pad (large washable pad) OR a towel.. then these on top. I think my cat likes the additional padded feel and it also helps any leakage or over shoots. I dont just use a towel or a reusable pad on its own because unlike these pads.. the towl/reusable tend to smell AND I would still have to go through multiple of them a day to make it work (sometimes I do– use a combo of big towel/reusable, then smaller tea towels on top.. really just using these disposable pads are way easier and more cleanly). I have considered a puppy pad holder tray.. but Like I said, I go through multiple per day because I try to grab them almost as soon as they have been used. These do a fine enough job. When it came time to buy another package, the 100 count I had purchased was not available. I took a moment to look at other brands (of this style) as well as some of the really “good” ones that I liked in the past (which now have mixed reviews about changed quality with still same high price).. and I simply came back to this American Kennel Club puppy pad product to see if they had it in the 150 count. They do, and so I ordered (a few minutes ago). Make it a subscribe and save item for even greater cost reduction. And so I decided to write this review. Let you know my experience and why I am making a point to buy this again despite my freedom to choose among every other offering available 🙂 Hence, my 5 stars. I keep buying them!I hope this helped you, one way or another. Your needs may be different than mine and you will want to look into other types.. or your needs may be similar and will appreciate what these have to offer. Basic, simple, lightly fragranced, and inexpensive.PS. I included a pics that show what it looks like underneath a pile of urine. I double up the pads so I can just take off the dirty one as needed.

Perfect for My Senior Pup!
These training pads are a total game changer for my senior dog! ð¾ Theyâre the perfect size (22×22), super absorbent, and no leaksâthankfully! The lavender scent is a nice bonus and helps keep the house smelling fresh. The quick-dry gel works really well, so I donât have to stress about accidents. Plus, with 150 in the pack, Iâm good for a while. If youâve got an older dog or need reliable pads, these are a must-have!

look no further – these are the only ones worth buying !!
I have tried many , many, many, many different brands of pee pads, and truthfully most of them leak right after the dog pees on them so needless to say I was very discouraged about trying any of them because so many of them have been disappointing (even the very expensive ones) THESE though, are hands down th best pee pads I have ever bought. I wonât waste my money on any other kind. They arenât to thin, they hold up, they do not leak, they are durable, they donât fall apart, they really do make clean up super simple and easy. My little dog uses pee pads everyday and over night & i honestly donât have any issues with these pee pads . They are worth it and they are reasonably priced .So if youâre looking for a reliable, quality product these pads are the ones. You wonât regret buying these.

Cheap pads that will save you money but dont expect a Cadillac out of a Yugo
I SEE a lot of reviews for these not as absorbent leak, etc, etc, etc. One I SAW complaining about expense really? If you are not tied to a particular scent these cost 16.99 or 17.99. Even Costco or Sams Club cost this much or more. Are these the best pads money can buy? no but they are the cheapest and fine for small dogs. If you have Labs or bigger you should be buying the XL size no matter the brand of pads and use 2.Ive used all the dog pads and the best ones period are Natures Miracle[ not the charcoal ones] they are listed at Petco for 56.99 for 100. They are thick smell something like grass and never leaks. So my advice is buy a reusable washable leakproof pad for 25.00 and then place the AKC Pads on top you will save yourself 12.00 a month over Wee Wee pads. if the price goes up over 20 get whatever brand is cheaper

Puppy pads
I have a small older poodle. She hates going outside in bad weather. The pad make good spot for her in the basement. They are a nice size and absorb lots of wetness.Great value for the cost. Great quality! Nice thickness. My grand dogs are bigger and I feel they would work for them.

NO SCENT
Pads are OK but there is no scent. Go for the Hartz brand. It has a noticeable lavender scent.

Iâve tried a couple other training pads and they always leak. This training pad is so good you can actually watch the urine being absorbed into the pad and it doesnât leak proof. Iâm assuming these would be great even for bigger dogs as my pup is a heavy wetter. I will only be ordering these pads from amazon. Itâs great for the price and great value and delivered to my door in a couple business days canât get better than that! I highly recommend!!!
