This bed (good for cats or cat-sized dogs) is better than I thought it would be. The “cave” part of it lays flat on the bed like a sleeping bag over half the round bed.You should know that this bed is all one piece. There’s no cover and it’s all sewn together with no openings (well, except for the “cave” part).The cleaning instructions are confusing, as the page says one thing and the tag on the bed says another. The tag says not to tumble-dry, and it’s probably a better idea to let it air dry completely in my opinion. The bed and stuffing and material are all pretty thin and light, and I’d worry about it shedding and/or falling apart in a dryer, especially if there’s any heat at all.They say you can either hand wash or machine wash (cold gentle cycle). Based on my long experience as both a human grandma and a pet grandma, I’d say hand wash & air dry — unless it’s a ridiculous mess, then I’d carefully try the washing machine.Anyway, this bed is still new in our house. The cats were mildly curious but forced me to watch them ignore it, as cats do. I hid cat treats inside the cave part, and that’s when they decided to explore. The biggest one (who’s almost 20 pounds, not fat but large) figured out how to get under the cave cover first to get the treats, and the other 2 watched and learned from him.Later, I walked into the kitchen where I’d left it, and the biggest boy was curled up on top of it, cave covering and all. Even as big as he is, he fit comfortably on it with plenty of room to spare. I expect when the weather drops during the winter, they’ll be more interested in nosing their way in under the covered part, but for now they seem happy with the fuzzy softness as just a bed.Since it’s still new and I haven’t put it through the wash — or the cats — for a reasonable period of time yet, it gets my highest first impression rating of 4 stars. That 5th star is very rare and hard to get out of me on something new, even though I’m very tempted at times! :)At about $14 when I ordered, I’d say this is so far a very good value for a pet bed. I would certainly recommend it at this point, but if it falls apart too quickly or any other problems become apparent, I’ll come back to update my review.4 stars from me!

Fluffy and warm
I have 3 Tuxies cats of varying ages. My youngest is the burrow cat and he loves to get into the cave portion and sleep. My middle and my senior are happy just to sleep on top of it. I wish the burrow part had something in it to stay up a bit better, but the cats don’t seem to care so it’s a win all around. Easy to clean and doesn’t take up a ton of space.

A bit shaggy for my tastes but the foster loves it! Let it air out first
This bed is a bit on the shaggy side for my taste, but our current, six-month-old foster cat does seem to love it. She curls up in it and completely relaxes, which is gratifying to see as she had a hard life before coming here. The bed arrives vacuum packed and it takes a day or two for the full “fluffiness” to be restored after you release the vacuum pack, so plan for that before providing to your pet. It seems on the smaller side for large cats, like Maine Coons, but sometimes they do like small spaces in which to cuddle. I would order it again.

Good for snuggling furbabies
Cold season is upon us, and I like to get fresh bedding for my cats. I saw this round cave bed and thought it would be perfect for my kitties. It is plush, soft, and has a good thickness to it. The cave top part has a bit of a challenge staying up at times. The kitties end up sleeping on top of it, like a regular bed. It’s fine as it is still big enough for my 2 kitties to snuggle together in.
