My half feral cat LOVES this comb/brush!!
My cat was born feral and was an outdoor cat for many years after we rescued him. Now that he is older and has an old injury that makes him limp, we keep him inside. He has only just in the past couple of years allowed anyone to pet him, but he gets overstimulated very easily and hates it (gets really ugly, hissing, threatening to bite, then runs away) when we attempt to brush him. As he gets older he doesn’t shed his undercoat as easily, and it causes him discomfort as the weather gets warmer. He has medium length hair, and unfortunately we have been unable to remove his undercoat and loose hair due to his dislike of brushes. But I read a review for this brush (really more like a comb) by someone else who has a similar issue with a half feral cat, and their cat loves it — so I thought I’d give it a try. WELL — my cat LOVES it too! He actually leans into it as I use it, and so far he let’s me use it everywhere from the top of his head, down the sides of his neck, on his back, his sides, and even his chest! And it removes wads and wads of loose hair every time. I haven’t been brave enough to try his belly yet, but I am hopeful that he may let me try because a couple of times he was so relaxed that he laid down while I was brushing him. I am amazed at how quickly he took to being brushed with this. He even comes running over when I shake it at him. I’m glad I bought the 3 pack because I can put one in every place he comes to sit with me and get more brushing time in. I’m very happy with this purchase, and so is my cat!

Picky Persian is less of a matted mess ðº
Quality-wise, the tines or teeth could be sturdier. If you brush too âdeepâ into the fur, it feels like they might break off. Similarly, the handle is hollow, so overall it feels a little flimsy.However! Our Persian gets mats because heâs not a fan of any brushes we own or that have been attempted (for example, at the vet). He has tried to bite, swat, or growl other brushes away, regardless of how light or gentle the brushstrokes, whereas he genuinely seems to enjoy this one. The first decent brushing in 6 months resulted in a dense, tennis ball-sized hair pouf and one very mellowed out, soft cat. He was so at-ease, I was able to cut several of the mats out before he got wise to what I was doing.In the event the brush does break, Iâve got backups having ordered the 3-pack, but Iâm hoping it will be durable enough that I can gift the others to friends who have similarly finicky felines instead.

Our cat I got it for hates to be brushed, she runs off, we have to literally hold her down while she hisses to brush her with a normal slicker brush. She actually purred when I first tried this out, but I was gentle and it didn’t do much for her fur. The second time she let me brush her a minute, the 3rd time she ran off. So I thought ok, I’ll get the cat we have that likes to be brushed with the slicker brush….nope, she ran off the first try…very weird! I hope it works for you, but in our house 2 cats say nope hehe.
