One of the best scratching posts ever!
Edit Sept 2, 2024: One year later this post is starting to show wear and a lot of fuzzies. Please do not take this as a complaint because this post has lasted 9 months longer than any post I have EVER bought for my cat. The top ball on the string my cat pulled off months ago but the one on the spring remains. The post itself is still incredible strong and shows no sign of decay. Only thing that is failing is the carpet around it due to one year of daily abuse and scratching from my cat. This is an absolute win in my book. So it has come time to order a new one and guess what I am choosing? That’s right, this one! In fact I am gonna get two just in case this one becomes unavailable.Original review:It is so hard to find carpet scratching posts now-a-days. Sissle rope seams to be all the rage. Well my cat is picky and likes carpet. I knew how tall this was gonna be but was surprised by the diameter. Holy cow this thing was huge! But it was also a HUGE hit with the picky cat. Its wide enough she can easily get her paws comfortably on it and its tall enough that she can stretch and scratch where she wants. She also loves to climb it and sit atop of it and survey her kingdom! I’ve had it 5 months now it has lasted so far! This has been great and well received by a picky cat!

    Unfit for kung-fu
This post is great. My cat prefers to scratch vertically, and prefers fabric/carpeting to cardboard or sisal, so this is perfect. The material is quite fibrous so it requires sporadic vacuuming. I’ve replaced the whole thing once already due to the fibers wearing out, but it’s still the best (and tallest) post I’ve found for the price. That being said, my cat likes to do running jumps onto the post when it’s time for zoomies, and we’ve had to wedge the base under 2 pieces of furniture to avoid it toppling. If your cat is more chill, it’s sturdy enough.

Tall enough for a Maine Coon
This is really a nice size, tall enough so that my biggest Maine Coon can get a really good stretch and my smaller one runs up it and purchases on top of it. The base is not very big and will need to be anchored to a bigger base or as I did, slide it underneath the leg of a heavy piece of furniture. Otherwise, I find it a very good scratching pose for the price and I now own two of them.

    Very large, thick, and sturdy
It said “Bobcat” on the packaging, and it might seriously work for a bobcat because it’s so big and stable. It took just a few minutes to assemble, and instructions were easy.As we unboxed it, we noticed the seam on the upper column is coming apart a little.Overall it’s a cool piece, and our cat started scratching it immediately. The carpet on it is not too long. And it’s so much softer than sisal. Will probably get another one.

Cat LOVES it! Encourages climbing, but watch the base.
I’ve had this post for probably around 6 months now. My cat LOVES it! I am buying a second since he has destroyed the carpeting (for a cat like him who loves to scratch, this is a good shelf-life for a post. Carpet posts are usually ripped to shreds around this time or even earlier, and he doesn’t like any material other than carpet to scratch). A few months in, he figured out he could climb it and sit on top. He likes to perch at the top and watch what’s going on around him. He treats it like his own jungle gym.The base is wide enough to be sturdy for casual use, however, once my cat started jumping onto it to climb, it became apparent that the base could stand to be a bit wider or a bit heavier. I remedied this by sliding the base of the post under the couch so when he would jump and climb, the swaying and wobbling would be caught by the underside of the couch. I haven’t had a problem with it falling over at all, and I don’t worry as long as it’s by the couch.Extremely easy to assemble. If your cat doesn’t climb, the two posts can be switched out between each other. Once the bottom becomes too ripped, you can just move the top one to the bottom and essentially have a new post for them!I’d say this is a great price, though it’s most worth it when it’s on sale. I’d take a post of this size and material any day rather than buying a much smaller one where the price is higher proportionally anyway compared to the material and size.Personally, not a fan of how it looks aesthetically with the rest of my furniture. But, I’ve nowhere else to put it in a way where my cat can get the most use out of it. In the end, it’s not a big deal if my cat likes it, and he does. He uses it every day and I knew from the start that once the post was destroyed, I’d be buying the same one again.I’d recommend! Especially if they are climbers; it’s an added benefit compared to smaller ones.

    Amazing
My cat is obsessed with this. It’s tall and thick so he climbs it easily. He also loves to scratch it. My only complaint is that it wears out in a few months and have to replace it. At one point I was able to replace just the individual pieces on their website but that is no longer an option on their website.

Got my cat to start using scratching posts
Recently brought home a new cat from a rural sanctuary that wasn’t used to living indoors and seemed unfamiliar with the concept of cat trees and scratching posts. She seemed to love scratching a particular chair so I tried to find a scratching post that matched the texture of the chair as much as possible. It took about a week, but it it worked. After she started using that post she started to follow the lead of my other cats and started to scratch only on cat trees and other scratching posts around the house. The size is large enough for any cat I think and the base is stable. Not sure that the material will last a super long time, but it’s cheap enough that I still think of it as a good value relative to replacing furniture.

My Bengal won’t use the sisal scratching posts that I have so this is a lifesaver.
