Perfect for any cat
I find this item perfect for any cat. Even my old picky cat didn’t mind the grit under the rope and has been helping me by filing his own nails. It was easy to wrap on to their old cat scratcher. I thought the straps would get in the way but they don’t. Based on how fast my cats typically go through the cardboard replacements I buy. I think this one will last a long time.

Save yourself the time.
I used to manually re-rope all of my cat trees, and it took forever. Was it worth it maybe? Did it last long absolutely not. These are incredible time savers and they donât look bad at all. Sure the gray kind of sucks as far as how you have to wrap it with the Velcro, but definitely will continuously buy from now on.

Large
Larger than the scratching post, so it’s a little awkward. I have had it for a week and so far my cats have not used it. They may just need some time to adjust, I think it would work well for tall scratching posts, but mine on a “cat condo” are too short, so it’s folded at the top. I will get a bigger post and try it that way!

It’s only effective if your cat will use it.
This seemed like a really good idea to trim down my kitty’s razor-sharp claws. However, she only uses the scratching posts that don’t have this attached. Oh well…I tried!

Great for cats that only scratch one side of the tree
My cat became obsessed with only one side of the cat tree so much that the one pole he scratched began to unravel and he was scratching into the pole itself, leaving a huge hole. I wrapped this around the pole and it has stayed nice and sturdy there. He still prefers that pole even with this cover, but I noticed he goes to other poles now. Itâs great as a scratcher. The boys seem to like it and it doesnât fall apart like the pole did. Highly recommend this and itâs a great purchase for the price and works amazing. It will stay as long as you tighten it around good enough. It fits around the pole just great.

Great idea. Works but could be improved
I was just recently looking at my well frayed cat scratching posts and thought, wouldn’t it be nice if you could just clean it and put a wrap up, rather than strip it and buy a bunch more sisal to wind and put back up there? And then I saw this.First, I was able to put it up, so in essence it did work and does what it should. You also get plenty of velcro to wrap around the post.My posts are slightly shorter than this one is long but figured I’d be able to work with it. On a slightly longer post it would’ve worked better. So part of the issue is I bought something not exactly suited for my situation, so I won’t ding them for that.Perhaps they aren’t all like this but on mine there was more backing than the front side and its somewhat stiff. That made it so the thing was more suited to wrap with the sisal to the inside rather than the other way around. This made it more difficult to wrap and is the reason for a lost star. The stiffness of the inside bit also made it so I couldn’t put it up the way it was designed because bending the top part made it so it wouldn’t wrap. This mean I put it on sideways. I will say there was enough velcro to wrap it around the top side to anchor it, but I couldnt anchor the bottom which brings me to my suggestion, which is to provide velcro for both edges, giving the product more versatility, or offer it in a few different sizes.

Perfect solution!
I was going to throw out the cat tower, this allows me to hang onto it for a bit longer! Iâm thrilled with how long the Velcro was. I think it wrapped around the pole about 4 times! Now I need to buy another one for the party behind it! Perfect solution. The cat has already scratched it and you canât even tell.

Poor execution of a nice idea.
If you know anything about cats, they tend to stretch upward upon when using a vertical scratching post. I have a different brand on a post and my cat likes it. This would be great for a kitten, but it’s just too dang short for an adult cat. It attached easily to itself with the hook/loop strap when wrapped around a post. The attachment remains secure. This product would be great if it were twice as long.
