This item, although with one plastic screw broken, made up for the problem with a ball that has a loop so when the kitties broke the ball from the elasticized string, it could be reattached again and again! The wood frame looks nice and the scratch post can be set up with the long or short scratching board on the floor. I also will try putting upside down before unscrewing and flipping the boards. Bought 2 to begin with door the price and might use a plastic screw from the second to secure the one Iâm using. The kitties love it!!Would recommend the company to add one âextraâ plastic screw in the package.

Messy but Good
I bought this in hopes of saving my couch from one of my cats. And it definitely helps. My cat loves aggressively scratching on this daily. It can get messy though as it he tears little pieces of cardboard off of the scratcher. I wish I could buy refills for it because Iâm not sure how long itâll last before heâs done with it, but it was easy to put together and itâs doing what I hoped it would do. I just sweep more than expected.. but my couch isnât getting scratched up anymore.

Functionality is great
Do I think these materials should cost $21 – no. Is it worth $21 for my cats to scratch my couch less often – absolutely! Prior to this purchase, my 2 cats would scratch my couch nonstop, at least 15 times per day, and the spray bottle wasn’t much of a deterrent. I purchased this and put it in front of where they scratch and 95% of the time, they use this now. Avery once in a while they will scratch the side of the couch, but this has been such an improvement. The original side of the cardboard pieces got scratched up so bad that I almost threw it out, but I decided to try to flip the pieces around first. They don’t fit exactly right that way and the ball doesn’t stay in the opening anymore, but it still works great for the scratching. When this side wears out, I’m going to try to screw the cheaper pieces of cardboard in this frame and see if it works.

Useful, but doesn’t messy & doesn’t last
My cat loves this thing, which has been great! It’s kept her from clawing the couch, at least. The problem is that it leaves a huge mess – just little bits and pieces of torn cardboard everywhere. It also gets torn up so quickly, I had to replace it with a better one within a few months. Good as a short term solution, or maybe for teaching kittens not to scratch the furniture, but not a good long-term investment.

My cats LOVE this scratcher!!!
As soon as I opened the packaging for this product, my cats were allllll over it! The cardboard must have catnip in it already. This is their favorite scratcher, out of the 10 other different ones we have around the house. They love standing up and stretching on it and it’s their go-to scratcher. There wasn’t much for instructions though, kinda had to figure it out by looking at the picture of how the cardboard is placed. Also when putting it together, we found that the placement is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for the ball at the bottom to actually roll, soake sure it has enough room to move easily before screwing it all together! It’s fairly sturdy by itself but I put it up against a wall and it rarely moves/budges. Overall, the cats LOVE IT and that’s really all that matters to me â¤ï¸

Works for the most part
I love this product and it does what it should which is to keep cats away from scratching up the couch for the most part.My only complaint is that I frequently have to readjust it to line up with the couch since itâs light weight. Itâs not a big deal though which is why I still gave it 4 stars. Love the product otherwise.

i have two of these in my apartment â i didnât expect my cats to like them so much cause theyâre picky (typical)these come with a lil pouch of catnip which i didnât need to use to lure them away from the joy of scratching my furniture :)the little white fluff ball that comes with these is quite possibly their favourite toy ever â they love them so much, and despite playing with them every day they have not fallen apart. i recommend this product even just for the fluff ball lol
