Get an actual cat scratching tower
Extremely flimsy. Looks cheap. The part the cats scratch is just a sheet of fabric across 3 dowels, so when the cats scratch the fabric bends and they canât scratch it well. It says vertical and horizontal use, but canât stand at all with the cats scratching it vertically.You are better off spending your money on an actual cat scratcher instead of whatever this is, not a good value here.

Sturdy and Durable Cat Scratcher
I have a 10-week kitten who’s growing fast and needs something sturdy and durable to keep up with his whirlwind energy and personality and this scratcher checks all the boxes. It comes flat-packed and requires assembly but includes all the hardware needed to do the job. The wood frame is thick plywood sanded smooth and unvarnished with round dowel supports for the frame along with veneer panels that serve as the backboards for the sisal mats to attach to. The instructions lay out the assembly steps and working alone, I was able to get it together in about 30 minutes. The trickiest part is lining up the 4 dowels so the frames are straight but that’s taken care of if you don’t fully tighten the screws down until after you insert the veneer panels towards the end. I like that the sisal mats attach via self-adhesive hook-and-loop strips as that makes it easy to remove them if you need to clean/maintain them over the long haul. It does make it a little challenging to place the long top strip straight though as the adhesive is strong and once it grabs, it holds and you can’t reposition it, so mine ended up slightly crooked (the cat doesn’t mind!). A set of self-adhesive non-skid silicone feet is also provided and that helps keep it stable on smooth or carpeted surfaces. Last but not least, the dangling ‘bird’ toy has an elastic cord and durable sisal material as a bonus engagement feature, and a packet of catnip is provided to help further with the initial enticement for your kitty to use it. I had no trouble getting my kitten to play with the toy but only time will tell if he goes for the main purpose of using it as a scratcher as he gets bigger.
