Great for cats
We rescued a starving, sickly cat several months ago. After she was well & out of isolation, she began literally eating her food (half of a 5.5 oz can + extra water) in under a minute. She’s put her head down & literally not come up until her bowl was completely clean. Then she’d go after the other cats’ dishes. It became such a problem, that if I was distracted for even 10 seconds, she was eating someone else’s food. I tried about five different slow feeder bowls with her & each had some sort of problem. Many had grooves that were too small for her to get the food from. Others had protrusions that were so high she couldn’t get her snout down to the bottom of the bowl. Still others had so many patterns that went in so many different directions that she simply couldn’t get all of the food.Then I discovered this bowl. It is perfect for her. The food is separated between the ribs of the fish that adorns the bottom of the bowl, and though they basically all face north & south, she had to work hard to clean it all out from between the ridges. Cat’s tongues just aren’t as flexible as dog’s are. Also, dogs produce a lot more saliva, which I think helps them to loosen the food from tight places.I bought a half dozen of these because they worked so well & I wanted to run the bowls through the dishwasher after use. I’ll tell you, this slowed her down so well, it was kind of surprising. The other cats would finish their meals, and Biscuit would still be working away at her slow feeder. The bowls worked so well for her, that she actually reached a point where she was too tired from working on the food that she would walk away from it. She would come back later & finish it. But the whole purpose for me was to keep her occupied while the other cats had a chance to eat their meals, as well as to slow her down for health reasons.Eventually, she stopped finishing herr meal. At that point I started feeding her from a regular bowl again. Her pace remained very good for months. She’s started to eat faster again so I’ll probably break out these bowls again to slow her down. Hopefully she’ll need them for a shorter period of time.I really love these bowls for my cat, but I really don’t like the suction cups. There are dozens of those tiny things & they seem to reach out & grab everything around them. It’s kind of a pain. They stick to the counter when I’m loading the bowl. I use a tray to carry the food to the cat’s feeding places & it sticks to the try. Even if I position it on sort of an angle, the darn suction cups grab on at least partly. I can understand the need for the suction cups if you’re using this with a dog. Dogs often go at their food much more enthusiastically & I’ve seen them push the bowl clear across the room when eating. Cats don’t eat like that, so it isn’t necessary to suction the bowl to the floor when feeding a cat. I’m going tto cut the suction cups off when I start using the bowls again. Because they’re silicone, they tend to stick to surfaces anyway & the amount of stickiness they naturally have is enough to deter a at from pushing the bowl across the floor. Yes, I’m sure there are exceptions, but most cats won’t be able to do that.These bowls were so fabulous at addressing the problem we had with our cat that I would recommend then to anyone having a similar problem. I have no doubt that they would work equally well over enthiastially eating dogs too. These worked out for us & they did a fantastic job at slowing our cat down.

Ich habe schon einige Anti-Schling-Näpfe bei meinen beiden Raffzähnen ausprobiert. Hat jeder einen vor sich stehen, entsteht doch unfreiwillig ein Wettkampf, wer seinen Napf zu erst leer hat.Auf die Idee, einen großen Napf zu nutzen, bin ich bisher nicht gekommen. Dieser Napf ist so groß und vor allem an den Rändern so niedrig gehalten, dass beide Kater ganz bequem daran Platz finden können. In Inneren des Napfes ist ein Fischknochenmuster eingelassen, dass in der Mitte ziemlich hoch ist, so dass sie sich das Futter nicht gegenseitig rüber schieben können. In den einzelnen Grätenrillen bleiben die Bröckchen des Trockenfutters schön hängen, so dass sie sich wirklich bemühen müssen, um an die einzelnen Stücke zu kommen. Wenn sie richtig Hunger haben, wirken sie schon mal leicht frustriert, wenn sie nicht nach ihrem Willen schaufeln können, wenn sie mehr aus Langweile futtern, scheinen sie sogar Freude an der Hangelei zu haben.Unter dem Futternapf befinden sich Saugnäpfe, die ein Verrutschen des Schälchens verhindern. Gekonnt verhindern! Die Saugnäpfe sind so fest, dass selbst ich schon mal Schwierigkeiten habe, die Schale abzubekommen. Wenn sich noch Futterreste darin befinden, lernen diese leider auch schon mal fliegen. Nicht ganz so praktisch, aber da das eher selten vor kommt, ist es nicht ganz so tragisch für mich.Wie die meisten Schälchen ist auch dieses für die Spülmaschine geeignet, was mir wichtig ist. Mal muss es einfach schnell gehen und da will ich nicht groß überlegen, was darf und was darf nicht in die Maschine.Mich hat der Anti-Schling-Napf total überzeugt! Vor allem die großzügige Größe finde ich sehr gut. Ein wirklich toller Napf!

食べるのが早く、たくさん食べてしまうので現在早食い防止のお皿を使用しています。現在のお皿の突起に慣れてしまったのかまた食べるのが早くなっていました。シリコン性で魚の骨のデザインがかわいいお皿ですね。底には吸盤がついているので、固定できます。今までとは違う場所に突起物があので、早食い防止になっています
