Cat loves it
Our kitten figured the treat dispenser out quickly. I batted at it a few times to show him how it worked. A few hours later he was working it over like pro. The tail feathers did not last long, as Toby picks up the ball and tosses it to get the last few treats out. Roundish treats work best. Oblong or star shapes get caught in the opening. Only improvement I would make is a bit larger refill hole so it is easier to pour treats from the bag into the mouse.

Fun way for my cat to “hunt” for her kibble
Because of the smaller size of the openings, kibble does not dispense from these toys as easily as it has from other kibble-dispensing toys I’ve used in the past (from a variety of manufacturers), so it took a few days for me to train my cat that there was food inside these plastic mice and how to bat at them to get the kibble to come out. (Training entailed my repeatedly getting down on the floor with her, pushing the mice with my own hands and also holding her paws to push the mice with her paws, and showing her that food was being dispensed.) Since she caught on, she has kept at them (I use all three mice for every meal, put in a variety of locations) until they disgorge all of their kibble. She seems to be getting more efficient, but it can take some time, and the owner must have the strength not give in to meowing that pleads for an easier option. :-)I don’t know that all of the decoration on these mice makes any difference. Given that my cat also readily uses other kibble-dispensing toys that are quite plain, I don’t think the decoration on these is making them more attractive to her. At the same time, I do appreciate that the fabric covers and the irregular shapes slow the dispensing process, as compared to plain balls. One small quality-control issue with the set I bought was that the fabric cover was misaligned on one of the three mice, so the opening was partially blocked by the fabric. I had to manipulate the tightly attached cover to unblock the opening; otherwise, it was quite difficult to get the kibble in or out.On the whole, I’m very happy with this purchase, as it adds effort and play to the feeding process.

Works okay but hard to fill because it’s defective
It says that the tail is supposed to twist off easily, but it actually doesn’t come off at all, making the toy very difficult to fill. Other than that it works fine and keeps the cats entertained. I don’t necessarily want to return the toy but was hoping to get a replacement that works as intended. Unfortunately Amazon’s customer service options are completely unhelpful here and the only way for me to contact the seller is to leave a review.

Received counterfeit item.
THIS IS COUNTERFEIT! I bought this because I had previously bought this item at a pet store and wanted two more for my other cats.I noticed immediately that this product did not compare to the original toy I bought in person.First, the plastic looks to be a different texture than the original and is scratched up, even though it doesnât appear to be used. The star on the side is a different shape and angle vs the real one. The colors of the paint are slightly different. The feather toy on the real product comes out for easily replacements the fake product does not, as well as the feathers being much more full than the fake. This fake product does not twist open easily like the original. It makes a rattling noise when moved around compared to the real one, and the connection of the top and bottom sections are uneven and look like itâs about to come apart.I am not comfortable giving this treat dispenser to my cats because itâs obviously lower quality than the original and who knows if the plastic is safe to be eaten from. If you have problems with this toy know that the real product is so much better. Buy in person!!COUNTERFEIT PRODUCT

Works great! Keeps my cat busy.
I’ve had this treat dispenser for 4 months and I’m very happy with it. As you can see in the video, my cat is too! Besides the fact that my cat was able to pull out some of the feathers, I don’t have anything negative to say about this toy. Some tips:- You can pop the tail off to refill treats. I couldn’t figure out how until a few months in. You need to turn the tail counterclockwise. It might feel stuck at first and may take a bit of effort to open.- If your cat doesn’t know how to play the game, you may have to teach them. My cat initially tried to retrieve treats by pushing it around with his face. I had to grab his paw and use it to swat the toy until a treat came out. It took some time, but he eventually figured it out.- When first introducing this to your cat, do not overfill the toy. If you overfill, depending on the size of the treats, it may make it more difficult for your cat to swat out treats and discourage them. Now that my cat is a seasoned treat hunter, I fill mine with ~1/3 cup of Hill’s Science Diet for adult indoor cats. Each kibble is just a bit smaller than the dispenser hole, and it can take a while for him to swat the first couple out. As the toy empties, it will be easier. Once your cat gets the hang of it, overfilling may help keep your cat busy for half an hour or so.- Make it into a game! I like to hide the toy somewhere easy for my cat to find as a nice surprise while he’s wandering around.

Can’t get treats out of tiny holes.
The holes for treats to come out are small and the rope- like cloth that covers the mice doesn’t align well and partially covers the holes making it virtually impossible for cats to get anything out. So searched until I found some I smaller cat treats. Still not dispensing anything. Next I tried cutting the cloth back from the holes thinking that would surely work. For 1 day I thought it might except my cats were no longer interested. So I got down on the floor with with my cats and batted the mice about to spark interest again. Mild interest back but it quickly became apparent that by trimming the covering back the rope like material had started fraying and was covering the holes up again so they still could not get treats out. By that point I called it a loss and threw the dang things out in the trash.

Sorry I would elaborate but this is such a poor product it is really worth my time. Don’t bother could cut a hole in a sock and a ping pong ball and get something better.

I bought this for my cat as I couldn’t find her Dreamies mouse. I found that in the christams decorations after buying this. I think this mouse is too big and heavy for her and the treats do not fall out as easily as the smaller Dreamies mouse. I considered using it for her actual food. That comes out easy enough but I don’t think I will. So it’ll probably sit there unused. However, the mouse is good quality and cheap enough.

My cat doesn’t really have interest in this toy. Empty or full of treats – same result!
