3 ice cream scoopers. Sharp metal gear pieces…OUCH!
I was excited to recieve these because I like a very large cookie scoop. I also saw the comparisson of theirs vs others. I was sold! However, just pulling it out of the protective plastic sleeve, the gear on the back side scratched my hand unecpectedly as it brushed on it slightly. I audibly said, “ouch.” You can see the other sharp/rough metal edges of handles as well.You can see a burr on the first picture. They should’ve been more rounded and smoothed off after they were cut from metal. “Deburring” is the terminology…removing sharp edges. If you slightly run your fingertip along ALL the edges, inside the scoop and handles as well, they are sharp and in some spots, bumpy with metal. Poor quality control.I suppose I need to take a wire wheel to them to attempt to smooth them a bit. Now, though the hand is not meant to touch the gear as handles are squeezed, the point is it’s a bad flaw. Using them won’t knock these burrs down because they roll and fit in the holes as you work them. A little disappointing as they we’re $19.00 for a set of 3.

Really useful for the kitchen
The scoops are good sizes for a variety of serving sizes and foods. They are easy to clean and to use. I had a scoop like this for several years before it needed to be replaced; the one I had was the large size, but I can think of many times when a smaller serving would be an advantage, eg scooping fruit for salad and children’s portions. I used my scoop to serve haggis, mashed potato and mashed vegetables neatly as well as icecream.
