Pet parents and veterinarians agree that slower eating is best for a pet’s digestion. But some pups just can’t wait to “woof” their food down! As a solution, Dexas has created the Slow Feeder wellness bowl. It’s a silicone food bowl with a pattern of “soft spikes” that create the need to seek and forage for food, slowing the eating process. Makes doggie dining more fun while stimulating gums and keeping teeth clean!

I Love this slow feeder; well worth the price!!
This is a great slow feeder and so easy to clean. The silicone pillars are so soft and bendable without causing injury to my dog.My dog was intimidated at first but now he has learned how to eat out of it.I love items that get your dogs mind thinking. There are No suction cups but there are silicone feet that adds stability and keeps it from sliding around.I highly recommend this slow feeder; it’s well worth the price!!

    Great bowls
These are great bowls; we have 2 one for each of our collies who WOLF down their food. This slows them down by a factor of about 3, I’d say. Significant. I like that they’re soft so it won’t scrape up their long noses like the hard plastic ones. Pretty easy to clean as well. Holds a lot of food.

    Great slow feed bowl.
Great bowl! Slows them down and easy to clean. Love the silicone. The only thing that bugs the crap out of me is the tabs on the bottom to hold the silicone to the bowl.Probably good for up to an 80# dog.

    Perfect Slow Feeding Bowl
I have been on the hunt for a slow feeder bowl that can fit all of my dogs food. She eats 3 1/2 – 4 cups of food a day and normally most bowls only hold 2 cups. Not only does this bowl hold all of the food, supplements and extra treats she gets, it truly does slow her down! And its super easy to clean! Highly recommend this dog bowl.

    Great
Please excuse the mess. It was dinner time. Honestly this is perfect for trying to get your pup, big or small to slow down while eating. There is a big difference between just eating from a regular bowl to a show feeder. I’ve noticed my pup finally wants to chill out after eating and not wanting to zoom through the house lol.

    Junk
This did NOT slow down my dogs eating and she ate the tips of the spikes! Horrible product!

Great concept but needs some tweeking
First the pros:I love how the bowl is deep enough that they can’t just skim the kibble off the top. Most bowls I found say they hold 2 cups but that fills them to the brim and the slow feeder function doesn’t even work for the first half of the bowl. The spikes definitely seem to slow them down but are easily bitten off, I have 3 spikes already down to half height after only a week or so of use. I love how the silicone is dishwasher safe.Cons:The silicone part doesn’t stay in the plastic bowl very well and there are no suction cups on the bottom so the dogs push it all over the floor. When they get a spike and pull up, dog food goes flying everywhere. The spikes seem to break easily.Recommendations:Definitely keep the bowl depth but find a way to secure it to hard plastic better. It needs suction to keep the bowl in placeSpikes need to be more durable so not easily broken off.Overall: I wouldn’t recommend this to any dog that is an aggressive eater which is unfortunate as the concept, should problems be fixed, would be exactly what I was looking for.

Great for slowing older dogs without hurting gums
My jack russell loves this bowl. The other hard plastic slow-feeders were hurting her teeth and gums, but this one is softer silicone. Slows her down, gives her some enrichment, and she doesn’t hesitate like she did the others that were hurting her. Took us a while to figure out. Might be an issue for your dog, too? Try this one!!

Works ok for my English bulldog. Slows him down a little. Only downside to this is that some dogs can chew through this if you leave it too long.. good quality though

If your dog is highly food motivated (ie finishes food in under 6 seconds) this will extend the eating to maybe 30-40 seconds. The big payoff is that it is relatively quiet — perfect for the first early morning feeding. We’ve tried about ten other ‘slow feeders/toy stuffers’ and, to be blunt, the slowest our Lab will eat food is if we huck/scatter it in the back yard… then it might take him 2-4 mins. Barring that, the wobble kong comes in second, averaging a little over one minute but the major downside is the crazy noise it makes, and the mess it leaves all over the floor! Stuffer feeder times are pretty similar to the wobble kong but once the “plug” is broken, it takes maybe a minute & there’s still crumbs everywhere. Walk feeding (aka leash training) works the best at 45 mins. Therefore, for our sanity, we alternate between 4-5 different things but this “nipple bowl” as my wife hates me calling it, gets used at least once a day.Next time when the wife wants a dog though, it’s gonna be a lot smaller… and will look much like a cat!

Since the spikes inside the bowl are soft my dog has no difficulties to eat its food. I was looking for a bowl that would have slowing down his eating, it is certainly not the case with that bowl. A last comment, I ordered a blue bowl but I received a gray one.
