Purr-fect! Cat LOVES it!
My cat loves this! He likes to stretch and scratch and is a decent sized male cat (not the biggest I have seen, mine is around 14 lbs) so getting a tall standing scratching post was a MUST. He absolutely loves it.My one complaint is that not both of the sections are reversible. The bottom one can be switched/flipped, so if your cat tends to scratch in one area you can swap it out after it gets too frayed. But the top one has the cap on top and it is not screwed on. It is attached. So you are not able to flip that one. Other than that, though, for a low price cat scratcher, I couldn’t ask for more. 5/5 from my cat.It is pretty durable. At the end of the day, it is a cat scratching post so it is meant to be used and worn down. Mine uses it a ton, and it pretty rough on it. I got about 8 months out of it before I had to replace it. And considering he uses it for all four feet, I’d say not bad. Plus the price isn’t too expensive, so I don’t mine replacing it.It is super easy to assemble. Mine does like to lay down, grab it and kick it really hard so after a few months the screw did start to come loose. But a quick tighten and it was good to go. I will say, it is not very sturdy. I do have the corner of it shoved under a bookshelf. It does fall over easily. I would make sure and secure it before letting your cats have at it. So it doesn’t really work free standing on it’s own, but that isn’t a big deal for me. If it is, I would try a different one. This is very light weight, but also my cat is very rough with it, so I have to make sure it is extra secure.

She likes it!
My cat is a Maine Coon. She is about 9 lbs. The height is perfect for her. She can stretch and sharpen her claws ( LOL ) . I needed an extra scratch post for her , when we visit my fiancé at his home. The quality is decent , and it doesnât take up a lot of space. The appearance is simple ; and itâs easy to assemble. It took me 5 mins to put together. Great price.

I mean, it’s not a bad scratching post
So…my cat absolutely refuses to use it, LOL. But to be fair, part of the problem is that he’s not the biggest fan of rope surfaces anyway. He likes harder surfaces to scratch; like wood, or metal refrigerator doors even though they do nothing for his claws; or my friend’s shoe. Why the shoe? I don’t know. If my cat learns to speak English, I’ll ask him.Anyway, about the product, I’ll have to give my thoughts without my cat’s input here.It was extremely easy to put together. Everything just screws into place. If I were to be nit-picky I could say that I wish the posts had labels or markings for top and bottom (yes, I know no one does this, but I think it would be helpful); and that this really doesn’t need the carpetty-part between them. It’s such a tiny piece, no where near big enough for a cat to do anything with, that it just seems kind of useless. But overall, construction was fine. It was super easy, and done in less than 10 minutes…probably in less than 5, but I’m not betting either way on that. For sturdiness, I have some concerns about the base. Small concerns, but still…. I’ve noticed that the post tends to rock some. I’m wondering if the base, or at least where the posts connect to it, is thick enough to last a long time. The posts are fine, though. Just, the base could use a thickness re-design.And for stability, I only give that three stars. When I say it rocks, I mean that this is probably the biggest reason my cat won’t use this. For those reading this, though, my cat’s like a middle-aged mountain lion…er, baby mountain lion. Whatever…he’s a big, dumb boy. But if you have a normal to small sized cat that just needs some extra scratch-and-stretch room, this should be fine. But when I play with him around this and lift his front paws to help him get the feel of it, the pole rocks quite a bit. I have double and triple checked the connections to make sure they are as tight as I can make them, but it still wobbles more that I would like. Maybe if it didn’t come with that carpeted piece in the middle, or if it had a thicker base, it wouldn’t be a problem.Overall, I’ll recommend this if you have a super-stretcher normal to small sized cat. But it’s not for honkin’ big guys like my cat. He could use the size of this scratching post, but I think the stability issues are really making him think twice about making it part of his routine. Or maybe he just likes my friend’s shoes better. I don’t know. But the scratching post is fine, so get it if you need one.

Not too big but does the job
Bought it more than a year ago and itâs still standing. Itâs not too big nor too small. Itâs perfect. My cats use it everyday. Great quality.

Great but fell apart after a year
My cats loved this, itâs a good blue color & very tall with a good wide base. The wide base makes up for the fact that itâs very light weight as the cats will stand on the base while using it.I had it for about a year before the rope started falling off. Just got a replacement one!

3 stars on longevity
I like how tall this post is. My cat really enjoys it. Sheâs a vigorous scratcher so keep that and your catâs tendencies in mind. For the price itâs a decent value but it gets 3 stars for two reasons for me.First off, the base is too light. If you have any decent sized cat or a cat whoâs a vigorous scratcher youâll have to weigh the base down to keep it from toppling over. My particular cat in the video is just under 9lbs for ref. Sheâs little. That was immediately apparent from the first time my cat used this post. Itâs weighted down with 45lbs of kettlebells.Second as you can see this post isnât going to last years and years on the scratching surface. Itâs already coming apart a lot. This particular post at the time of this writing is only 9 months old. My cat uses it every single day, generally multiple times per day.If you have a cat whoâs a heavy scratcher this isnât going to last long and you will need to weight the base somehow on your own.Easy to assemble so thatâs a plus. We later bought the Amazon Basics cat scratch post and itâs more square on the scratching surface but is heavier by a longshot. The bases are exactly the same dimensions though. Our 11lb cat spidermans up to sit on top daily and it doesnât move an inch. The scratching surface on that one is also more durable. That being said, this is an economical option but not without its drawbacks. It has served its purpose but weâll likely replace it soon with the Amazon version because I would rather pay a bit more and have it last a whole lot longer than 9 months.

Good quality. Keeps couches safe. Looks good. Great size. Cat likes it.
SweetNiffer –
Cats like it well enough. Kitten keeps trying to get to the top and sit there, but it’s too narrow. Amusing to watch him try. Went together really easy. Base is nice and wide so it doesn’t topple over during the shenanigans.

This is the second time I have ordered this scratch post for my cats My first scratch post it took about 3 years for them to truly destroy it and when it was completely destroyed I got them on replacement. The base however the board on the floor the base of the post the newer one is smaller than the older one and my taller cat knocked it over right away so I put the base from the old one on it’s just a little bit bigger but it gives them a bit more to pull on and it doesn’t fall over so I had to do a little fix at jobby with that

It’s a scratcher for my cat and she loves it she uses it all the time

My four month old cat has been using this for a month and absolutely loves it. I was originally worried the height wasnât tall enough for her but thereâs plenty of room for her climb. I will probably add a few more levels once sheâs a bit taller.
