Big enough, inexpensive, great emergency plan!
These are great! I keep one in my car trunk for emergency pickups of animals in distress. They store flat, and assemble easily without any tools or tape needed. It’s sturdy! Thick cardboard feels more like a sturdier material. The holes make it safe, animal feels safe as it’s dark. Big enough for large cats and small dogs, skunks, and other animals. Would recommend!

    Worked for needs.
Worked well. I’d say tape up the bottom if you use it for an adult cat.

    Fire evacuation supply!
I have multiple chickens, and live in a wildfire risk area. When preparing for wildfire evacuation, I worried about how to deal with my girls. I ordered these quick and easy pop up boxes, one per chicken. My plan is to put a disposable adult under pad in the bottom of each box, then insert chicken and close it up. I can fit 6 boxes across the back seat, 2 on the floor, and then stack 4 on top. Everybody is safe in their own box and easily transported to an animal shelter. By having each chicken in their own box, it is easy for helpers to carry chickens to a temporary pen without risk of injury or escape. Disposable pads are tossed, boxes are flattened ready for their return home, and my car suffers no mess of transporting a dozen chickens. Easy peasy!

    Good Deal, but…
Update: This carrier does have its limits. When I recently tried it for a 16 lb cat, the handle ripped off as soon as I picked it up. With that in mind, I think I would be careful using it for any transport for my other bigger cats. Of course, you can’t expect a cardboard box to carry an unlimited amount of weight. Previous review: I was pleasantly surprised with these cardboard carriers. Thought I might be taking a risk ordering them since I have some big cats, but they’re roomier than I expected. One of my 14-lb cats is napping in one of the carriers right now. None of my cats (14/15 lbs) had any trouble turning around in the box. Obviously, cardboard is not for long trips and I have no doubt that my cats could start in one of the air holes and rip the box to shreds in short order, but for short trips to the vet or to get a cat out of the house and someplace secure in an emergency they’d be great. I can think of some none-cat/animal uses for the boxes, too. One warning: Don’t try to lift a box with a cat in it unless the top is fully secured. I tried it without securing the side flaps and ripped the handle. But once I attached the side flaps, even with the rip in the handle, I easily picked up my 15-lb cat. It was actually much more comfortable carrying than a traditional carrier.

    Great for Emergencies
I purchased these in 2020 and they have sat in the box for a year. I live in the Gulf Coast and wanted something that would be easy to assemble in case of emergencies (such as Hurricane evacuation). I got the unfortunate opportunity to use them this past weekend with Hurricane Nicholas.Pros:Quick to put togetherI was able to put together 9 of these and get 9 cats in record time. (less than 20 min)Cons:If the cat wants out, they will get out. These are great for kittens and cats who go into carriers easily and are not ruffled by them. However, if the cats is scared or hates carriers, they WILL get out. I had one of my cats burst through the side within 5 min of getting him into the carrier.Suggestion:If you buy these, DO NOT TRY TO REUSE! The cardboard is not sturdy enough for re-use, no matter how sedate the cats is. If someone was to make something like this in a plastic that can be folded flat for storage, I would buy them in a heartbeat!! If there was also a way to make them more stack-able without compromising the integrity of the closure, I would buy them. Overall, these served the purpose I had for them however.

    Good size for adult cats
Bought these for my rescue. They’re big enough and study enough for all but the very biggest adult cats. I’ve put 10lb+ male cats in these no problem. Great value.
