BE PREPARED TO EVACUATE–with 2024 Update
We have a cat with pica. He eats things he ought not, so we spray down the Christmas tree and treeskirt with bitter apple every year. This year, when we pulled out the bitter apple, it had stopped tasting bad (as we found out through a mis-spray) so we ordered Bitter Yuck. It arrived promptly and we set up the tree. I then began to spray.Bitter Yuck has a nice, easy to use trigger handle that allows you to spray a whole Christmas tree with less hand cramping than the hairspray bottle offered by Bitter Apple. This is a plus. You can deliver a lot of this nasty, noxious, hellish substance to a tree in short order. Then you can stand back to admire your work. This is where you will make your mistake. The correct course of action is to spray quickly, then run away. Far, far away.As you stand back, you will suddenly be aware that something isn’t… right. Your mouth, despite careful efforts to breathe through your nose, tastes off. This taste intensifies with each successive breath. You can’t figure out why. You carefully didn’t open your mouth while you sprayed the Bitter Yuck. Then you realize. The call is coming from inside the house. The cloud of Bitter Yuck has penetrated your oral cavity via your nasal passages. And it’s not going anywhere. No, once it’s in your nose, it’s in your mouth and you’re doomed. That’s when the gagging starts. By the time your spouse and roommate, on the other end of the room, start gagging, the heaving has set in. At this point, a smart being would evacuate. And so that is what we did. We fled. We ran to the other end of the house, where the flavour lingers and the occasional dry heave continues. If the little bastard eats the Christmas tree with this stuff on it, then there’s no stopping him. This should prevent even the strongest, most motivated chewer. If not, well. It’ll at least get you out of the room you’re trying to protect so you won’t see the damage. Good luck.UPDATE, 1.5 YEARS LATER: We are now moving and we were packing the Christmas stuff for the move. We made the mistake of packing and eating brownies at the same time. We touched the Christmas stuff. We ate a bit of brownie. We threw out the brownies.

Works amazing but there are some things to consider. Also savings tip included.
So this stuff is magic. It works VERY well and taste like crap. I was applying this to some hanging LEDs that make drawings on my walls. My cats love to chew on cables and the LEDs seem to be their new target. So I applied this with bare hands and ran my wet fingers down the cord to ensure it was covered. Cat took one little bite and never returned. He learned right away. Other cat gave it a try and same case. gone, no more chewing on those cables. So being the genius I am, I washed my hands with warm water and soap and put a finger in my mouth. To my surprise I got a taste of the stuff and its horrible. I have since washed my hands several times, taken 2 showers, and I still have it on my fingers if I forget and bite a nail or eat something and a finger gets in my mouth. Yes, bite your nails. Thats the money savings part of my review. This stuff is an EXACT duplicate taste of the stuff you buy and put on your nails to break the nail biting habbit. I had bought some last year and it was pretty helpful. Dried clean and left nothing like the old school nail biter med that was essentially nail polish with yuck added. So this is the exact same stuff only you get about 15 times more buying in this container than buying the mini pen container that they sell for human nail use. So if you want to stop biting nails, here you go.All that being said. Don’t be me. I bet it even says it in the directions somewhere, but if you don’t read like me, this is for you. Use plastic gloves. You have them left over from the pandemic in a drawer somewhere. Go get them out and use them when applying this stuff. It will save you a long time of nasty tasting fingers. I rated this product top shelf across the board. The price is right, it is very effective, and is exactly as advertised.

*BEWARE* but it worksâ¦
I purchased this spray to protect our wood fence from our naughty puppy! Spray bottle is great and it was easy to saturate the areas of the fence I was worried about.First- Dig out your pandemic masks and wear one while you spray! It doesnât matter if you keep your mouth shut- it will invade through your nose. And it is terrible.Second- WEAR GLOVES. The spray cloud apparently covered my hands as well. And before I washed my hands, I touched my phone. Now, every time I touch my phone, I reinfect my hands. I canât escape it. I canât get it off of my phone. Washing my hands is only mildly effective. I feel like Iâm going to wear a hazmat suit.I havenât tried, but I canât imagine spraying this stuff indoors.

Deterrent or Treat?
As a dog deterrent I would give it one star.As a dog treat I would give it 5 stars, my dogs love it. They love it when I spray it into there mouths.

Great spray
This spray has been a miracle! My cat was chewing through any wires they could touch. Before I got this spray, I had to hide all of my wires in drawers. My friend suggested this to me when she was watching my cat for me. It worked day one. After one nibble, my cat no longer attempts to chew on any of my wires. I suggested it to another friend who had a dog eating their cat tree and they said it works wonderful. They just need to spray it every few days as it does fade away rather quickly. But for the price, it is for sure worth it!

Pet Repellent Spray
This stuff works. It smells bad and you don’t want it on your hands, so use gloves and leave the area after you spray. I purchased this product (from a brick & mortar chain store) to keep my cats from eating my aloe plants. It was making them sick, and killing my poor aloe plants, which I’ve had longer than the cats. This product really has stopped the cats from asserting their dominance over the plants, which I think is the vibe I see when they’re doing plant mayhem. Also, it does not seem to have a negative effect on plant growth after a couple of weeks.
