The Miracle Harness We Needed
We adopted a 13-yr-old senior schnauzer from a rescue two weeks ago. He LOVES to go on walks, and for a 13-yr-old he still has a ton of energy, “get up and go,” and pulls with a lot of strength. He’s a good boy, but he does not having the leash training that our younger schnauzer has. With that being said, he needed a harness for walks, and we’ve been playing the buy it-try it-return it game for two weeks. THIS is the only harness that has worked for him! He has a deep chest for a mini-schnauzer at almost 22″, but his neck is the same as our younger one (only 11.5″). However, he is a bit longer than our younger one as well. Every harness was either too light and wimpy or they were too bulky/heavy and seemed more like a military tactical vest. Repeatedly, the main issue was his ability to show a little stubbornness with putting his head down and the harnesseses easily slipping off. All others would fit his chest after adjustment, but the neck area was always too big and usually came up too high and rubbed up in his throat. If I could tighten them down to his neck appropriately, then I couldn’t get it over his ears and head to remove. Not all breeds (or individual dogs) with bigger ribs cages have a thick neck to go with it. But THIS harness ð oh, so thankful! Tonight was the first time we used it and the walk went perfectly! I never had to stop and re-adjust, nor did it ever look like it was going to slip off him if he was stubborn to move on from a sniffing spot. AND it didn’t go up into his throat. I could fit it comfortably around his neck, his chest, and the added strap to go around the belly (which is genius). He noticed early on that we had more control with this harness, and his stubborn moments were much shorter. We had to switch around some leashing, and holding him by the top handle was great to keep him controlled. This harness seems very well made, very sturdy, and very comfortable. In the two photos I submitted, you can see his happy face. The harness looks “crooked,” but that’s because of how he turned and pulled on the leash, not because of the harness design. Once I straightened it, it stayed that way. I also love that adjusting the straps is so much easier than all other harnesses we tried, and there are pads on the underside to protect their skin from rubbing. Best of all, it’s a strong harness with strong materials, but it’s not a hulk of padding like a military grade tactical vest. It’s lighter in weight and doesn’t cover so much skin to make him hot. He is an old dog set in his ways, but he seemed to be a big fan of his new harness, and we love the security it gave us after two weeks of searching. We’re more confident that he’ll learn better leash/walking training now that we have this harness. If I find the materials to be subpar, or any other issues, I will update this review.

Best harness for strong dogs!
Our strong Carolina dog is an escape artist from harnesses – except this one! The way it fits around her neck is secure but not tight.This harness feels cheap at first but the material of the straps is strong and durable; the metal piece for the leash to connect is also durable. I like the fact itâs adjustable, but the plastic buckles donât slide to loosen if the dog pulls. Reflective too!Have purchased this multiple times, but itâs not the fault of the product. Iâve left the harness on our girl too long and she chewed it (4x!). Finally learned to take it off immediately.

Love this harness. We have a growing puppy between sizes and purchased an XS and a S. Now that she has originally grown out of the XS this small size is perfect with room to tighten down or loosen up on the days she changes sizes. Itâs sturdy and cute. Bought purple small and pink x-small.

Required Some Work
Let me start by saying that I have three Chiweenie dogs who are a bit of an odd body shape, which is why I needed this type of escape proof harness. I bought three of these harnesses and had to modify all three of them to fit my dogs, but that third strap across their bellies was the magic keeping the harnesses on despite the poor fit at the breast. You can see in my pics how loose it was up front and how my dogs were easily getting their legs out of place despite having cinched the front strap as tight as it would go. So I had to cut the sewn loop off of the adjuster, cut the excess strap down, burn the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying, restring the strap in the opposite direction, and sew it down to help ensure it stays securely in place. In the last picture, you can see the harness now fits my dog comfortably. Overall, I’m happy despite all the work this took for three dogs, but I haven’t taken them on a long walk yet with these. There are some places where the fold of the padding seems a bit stiff and pointy, but it might not be an issue. The reflective threads are pretty stiff also, so I checked the whole harness and found a few spots that needed to be trimmed close with toenail clippers to get at poking threads. The dogs seem unhindered as they walk, though, and they’re not able to escape. Overall, these harnesses seem well made, I like the metal front and back hook points, the handles are extremely handy, and they’re true to the pictured colors, which is super important for our color-coded family. I’ll update this review if need be, but I think people like me with Corgis, Daschunds, and Chiweenies might have to suck it up and modify our harnesses for lack of any better options. I’ve looked for a long time and this is the best, most secure harness I’ve found so far.

We’ve really struggled to find harnesses that our 3 Morkies can’t escape from but that they still like to wear. One particular problem with having multiple dogs is when you use a split leash, because they can then use it to pull against each other and back out of a harness, and by “can”, I mean “definitely will”. Even with separate leashes, they can decide to go in different directions which easily leads to one of them getting free which you really don’t ever want to happen, especially if you’re near busy roads.This is THE best harness we’ve tried that is still a very reasonable price. There are so many points to adjust it that you can get it to fit perfectly which makes it more comfortable for them while giving you confidence because they are reassuringly secured. The end result is more enjoyable walks for all involved.The multiple straps provide good support under their chest and belly so that the handle is then really useful for lifting them away from danger or just in and out of the car and they don’t mind being lifted up using it.They even seem to prefer how it is put on, with no need to lift them to put their front-legs through any holes like one style of harness we have, so they are happy for you to slip it over their head and then just put the straps around them.All the straps, leash connectors, and buckles appear well connected and sturdy, and having multiple color options is great for us to identify which harness has been adjusted for each dog – they have surprisingly different body shapes, despite all being sisters. Not sure how well the under belly strap would work with male dogs, it could possibly interfere with their wing-dang-doodle, it might depend a lot on the breed and their body length.Overall, definitely recommended.
