Works Great! Birds Love it! No mess on the Ground!
A lot of Tube feeders and house feeders result in a lot of seed on the ground which cause a lot of sunflower growth in my turf and sometimes unwanted rats dropping by for a bite. I take my feeders down at night but those other feeders would still drop a lot of seed on the ground. This one because of its tighter weave metal basket and higher walls contain 99% of the seed for none to less seed on the ground. It also accommodates the small birds as well as the bigger birds. It is Christmas day now and I see the birds outside having Christmas lunch. It appears well made with no rough edges and it hangs straight and level. The price was great too and a very good value for the quality of materials and workmanship. A+

Hung it up yesterday
As soon as I hung up this mesh feeder the birds came to check it out. It is nice and big enough to keep out the crows, etc. The mesh lets small “stuff” drop out onto the ground and also lets the water out so the seeds don’t mildew. I basically bought this for the DOVES because they love an open feeder and since I cannot put a feeder on the ground because of the greedy squirrels this feeder gives the Doves a fighting chance. All my other birds love eating their favorite peanuts, sunflower seeds from it too. It is just a lot of fun to watch the birds come and go.

Of all the different bird feeders I have this one is the most popular! All sized birds go to it. If I were to buy one again I would look for a larger sized one that is wider and deeper so I don’t have to refill it as often.

Feeder was nice and well made. It was crushed during packing but had nothing to do with the product. Quick replacement. The wire mesh is very strong and is good to let rain drain so as not to ruin the food. Useful and worth the money.

DANGER TO BIRDS!!
I put this bird feeder up today and tonight in saw a bird stuck hanging by its talon! I used a broom to pick it up, let it rest because it was exhausted, and then get its talon out of the metal mesh. It could barely fly away after that it was so exhausted. Please pick a different bird feeder as this one is clearly dangerous since birds can get their claws stuck on it!!!

We bought this little bird feeder primarily for peanuts for our cardinals, chipping and white throat sparrows. This purchase was after a constant contest between our two resident squirrels that insisted they should be part of the peanut party. We did need to add a large squirrel baffle of top of the chains and now the feeder is strictly a bird only feeder. It is a perfect size and the edge is not too deep as to make it difficult for small birds to perch on. The cardinals have no issues at all. Our nesting pair brought their three offspring to the buffet and all were able to eat comfortably. On their behalf, it is a 5 star rating (zero for the squirrels).

I mean, what bird wouldn’t be happy with free food as long as it’s far away from the cats in the neighborhood. The only issue I have is not with the feeder itself, but the woodpecker throws everything off it. I tied a shoelace around it to hang it up even higher looping it on a branch out of the reach of any cats claws, and that has worked perfectly. Except one time I found the feeder on the ground because of a squirrel.
