It was hard to get going at first, the ball was a little stiff and it leaked a few drops. But eventually, my dwarf hamster figured it out. It also doesn’t leak anymore to my knowledge.

TERRIFIC! A VERY RARE NON-LEAKING BOTTLE!
You can search high and wide, as I have done, for a small pet water bottle that doesn’t leak. It’s a tall order, and I have yet to succeed in finding such a bottle for Danny Boy, my chinchilla. Oasis used to make great ones, but they apparently have sold out to another manufacturer, and those bottes are now not up to par. Other popular brands continually leak. But this tiny water bottle does not leak. Three cheers and hurrah!Since it is dark blue, it is a little hard to know just how much water has been drunk by small pets (mine are two mice). So it’s best to change the water at least every other day. That way one can be safe.Be sure to tamp the tip of the bottle a few times after installing it in the cage. That will stop any initial leaking due to jarring. But it’s a great relief for me to find a non-leaking product. They’re hard to find, and I am glad to have come upon this one.

Always have worked for me, sometimes you have to rig it up a little.
Some people say the critters have chewed the plastic bottle or the cap part threw the cage, I have had that HAPPED only once. So I always just glue on the front part of bottle the part that will lay next to the cage bars that the animal can get to a small but decent thickness rock or a piece of metal, so the critters can’t get to it. you can use hard as nails glue, gorilla glue etc..and I have had to adjust the bottle sometimes to certain cages with zip ties. Just remember the most important thing is that they get water. And check the ball on the end of it to make sure that it is not stuck and moving in and out, when you push on it. so you know that they are getting water..

Good product
This is really good at first when I opened it was leaking so what I did is take something pointy and metal ( like a fork )and push the marble back inside a little with not too much pressure and it worked perfectlyMy hamster Chocolat ( in french sounded better and less harsh then in English chocolate) is ok with it but he’s used to another bottle i got him so I don’t use it and put it away as an emergency bottle for him just in case.

Leaks within a day, easily chewed through
There are some good reviews, and quite a few bad ones. Just know if you do buy this, there is a possibility of the following.”CritterTrail water bottle” is the incorrect name. It should be called “water bottle shaped garbage”. Even closed as tightly as I can, it still leaks everything within a day. The material was thin and soft enough to be chewed through about a day after using it too. I didn’t chew it BTW, it was the mice (in case you were wondering). If you want a water bottle that will eventually be topless, and want to refill it daily, this is perfect for you.

Great hanging water bottle.
We didn’t like the water bottle that came with out hamster cage and wanted to get one that hung from the ceiling. There are not many hanging water bottles out there so your choice will be limited. This bottle worked out perfectly. It has a well placed and good sized hanging hole in the top. It holds a sensible amount of water, not too much not too little kind of thing. The metal ball at the drinking end never got stuck or stiff and our hamster had no problem with it all. Simple yet perfect.I’m not sure why they call it deluxe? No doubt just to grab your attention from a sales point of view.

Way too long!
I bought this because the water bottle included with my Kaytee CritterTrail 2-Level Habitat was leaking and needed a replacement. I decided to go with this because I still had one unused hole on top of the cage. Unfortunately, this thing is way too long. It was probably only 1/4-inch or less from the 2nd level of my cage. And no…. due to the tunnel that connects to the 2nd level, I could not move it any lower than it already was. This would be perfect if the metal sipper was a little smaller in length.

Buen precio y calidad. El único detalle es que no tiene broche para sujetarlo a la jaula pero tiene un pequeño orificio para colgarlo.

Does the job it was designed to do, the bend in the tube makes it easier for my large hamster to drink.
