Perfect size and hardness!
recently purchased the Senior Kong for my toy poodle, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice! I was looking for a softer alternative to the regular Kongs, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The texture is just right for my pup, making it easier for her to chew and enjoy without straining her teeth. I use it during events when she needs to be crated, and it keeps her occupied for an impressive 45 minutes! This has been a game-changer for us, as it helps reduce her anxiety and keeps her entertained.Overall, I highly recommend the Senior Kong for anyone with a small dog or a senior pet. It’s durable, easy to fill, and provides great mental stimulation. A fantastic product that has made crate time much more enjoyable for my furry friend!

As always, Kong is king!
This is not by any means my first Kong purchase. When we got our first little rescue dog and realized that she was both very smart and had lots of energy, our first stop was to buy a Kong Classic toy. She was about a year and a half when we got her, and it was the perfect fit. The next addition to our family (just a few days ago) was a 9-week old Husky/Jack Russell mix (I know, right?) who we were determined to raise in a healthy, well-trained way. As with any puppy, he enjoys exploring and quickly discovered that baseboards, rugs and shoes were more interesting than anything else to “investigate” with his little razor teeth. I quickly jumped on Amazon and ordered the Senior Kong toy.Now you may be wondering why I chose the Senior toy instead of the Puppy Kong, also avaialble. Really it comes down to personal preference. Despite being only 9-weeks old, the husky side of our little Nico is tough, and he has already put a few holes in the softer puppy toys from various brands that we purchased. I don’t think he’s quite ready for the adult Kong, so we got the Senior Kong because the documentation stated it was a little tougher than the Puppy one, but not as tough as the Adult.DESIGN/BUILDMade of durable natural rubber, this toy is thick enough that puncture marks do not create weaknesses in the structure of the toy. You see, most toys are made of theoretically durable materials (rubber, hard plastic etc) but many are flawed in design, in that a puncture mark from a little dog tooth then creates a weakness in the whole toy. Suddenly there are four or five punctures, and off comes the edge of a rubber bone. The Kong is different, in that it uses its shape and thickness to counteract this. The edges of the toy are internal, meaning it is a lot harder for a dog of any size to grab one of the edges and rip – the rest of the toy is thick enough so that you don’t have to worry. When clean, this toy has the natural vanilla rubber smell that is rather pleasant. As mentioned, the durability is head and shoulders above other dog toys on the market!PURPOSEUnlike other toys, the Kong is not a chew toy per se. By making the toy hollow, the Kong Company has in fact created more of a puzzle than an easy chew, so that dogs have to work smartly to get at their favorite treats. Our new pup spends almost he chews the edges sometimes, but mostly his primary goal is the goodness on the inside.THE PERFECT KONG RECIPE:We have found this to be one of the best mixes for your pup, and healthy too!- A handful of our pup’s Kibble (We use Flint River Ranch for its human-grade meat content)- A few Zuke’s Mini Dog Treats – his favourite little morsels!- A few frozen blueberries, although fresh will do- Top it off and seal with some organic no-sugar Peanut ButterAs you may already know, the Kong can be frozen after it has been filled for the ultimate summer snack!OVERALLIn my first review of the Kong classic I said “I wish I had a reason to buy another”, simply because I appreciated the design, functionality and cost-effectiveness. With our new puppy that reason came along (with wiggles and face kisses) and we are happy to add to our Kong collection. Oh and as for the first one we bought nearly two years ago? Almost looks like new…

Good for cats too!
My cat is obsessed with chewing on soft plastic (think finger puppets, electric cords, Little Tyke toys, etc), but this is an excellent substitute for her! The Kong that’s made for cats also obviously works, but this one lasts her a bit longer.

It was fine
The toy is fine. The treats will likely fall out due to soze of hole at the bottom. It did not smell as some reviews mentioned. My 12 year old poodle was not interested in it, so my money is gone. I guess it’s better for dogs that actually like chew toys. It didn’t work for us.

My dog is thankful!!
My dog has gotten older and her initial Kong no longer serves her well, so I had to get her an upgrade! It is softer for her teeth and mouth which allows for her to bite into it. It keeps her more entertained now compared to her first one where she would just give up from it being so hard. If you have an older dog this is a must!

Perfect for our senior.
Our pup is 15 and missing several of her top teeth. That said, sheâs been working on the same long since 5 years old. Itâs held up great. We recently got a puppy, and when buying a puppy Kong, I finally decided to also get a senior one. Holy moly, what a difference! Sheâs actually fully emptied it for the first time in years and can just say: it makes a huge difference to seniors, get one of you wonder if itâs worth it!!

Great for senior dogs
I like the fact that this material is perfect for senior dogs. Weight, chew ability are perfect. Very durable and functional for older pups. Easy to use and keeps them occupied for about 30 min.

Very small!
Maybe I misread the description, but this Kong was tiny for my senior Golden retriever. It was softer than the regular Kongs which it why I got it, but the size was disappointing. Itâs only about 3 inches tall. Iâll save it for the puppies I guess.

Ele é indicado para cães idosos, pprque a borracha bem macia. Meus cães gostam bastante. Se teu cão tiver mordida forte, compre o vermelho ou o preto.

I got the purple Kong because itâs softer for my senior pup. I usually put peanut butter with some cut up soft treats inside and I freeze them and give them to my pup as a treat. It keeps him busy for a little bit.

Minha Shitzu adorou a textura, ele é super macio, ótimo tamanho. Perfeito para colocar petiscos. Depois de anos de uso, só agora precisei comprar um novo. Excelente durabilidade.

Dog toy arrived on time and very pleased with this item. It is soft so perfect for my senior black lab, nice and soft. I fill it with small treats and then use Kong Easy Treat flavoured spray to make a seal to hold it all in. My senior dog loves it so much and it enables him to engage in fun play again. Even my other young dog tries to sneak off with my senior dog’s new Kong toy, despite him having a variety of his own toys. Very satisfied with this purchase based on quality, durability, and the fact that it is geared specifically towards senior dogs.

Mein Hund (Labrador) liebt den King! Die Bewegung des Spielzeugs beschäftigt sie ewig und sie trägt es andauernd mit sich rum.
