It fits really well, keeps them secure in the car.
Okay, a few things first:1) the fit is fantastic. I’ve ordered multiple harnesses for walking, and they are often a little too thick between the front legs for my toy poodle (14 inch chest and 9 inch neck). The adjustment around the neck has enough space to adjust comfortably for my poodle as well.2. This is secure and strong. I have really liked having the seat belt attachment as well. I use a car seat that has some clips in it, but I feel a lot more confident with the seat belt attachment. It IS kind of short, though. Pros and cons to this: PRO: Little miss Ruby can’t run around the car. She really does have to stay within about ten inches of where the seat belt connects to the back end of the harness. CON: I sort of have to pull her over as I connect her. I would have liked about three more inches. That’s kind of picky EXCEPT if you have a dog any bigger than mine I suspect they would want a little more movement.3. My dog haaaates having things go over her head. This is no exception. So if you have a dog who also doesn’t like that, just know that… it’s a thing.4. One thing I really appreciate is that I can easily attach my leash to the top or to the front. It’s still a bit loose on the front for my little one, but if you have a slightly bigger dog it makes it really easy to use.

Safe, effective, and affordable.
Iâm so impressed with this harness. The way I see it, when youâre shopping for a (LIFE SAVING DEVICE) car harness for your dog, youâre looking for three things: Safety, Convenience, and Cost. This harness is safe and affordable. Thus, itâs not the most convenient option in the world.Safety: The build quality is FANTASTIC. Itâs engineered for performance, the clasps and stitching feel strong. With its appearance and construction in mind, I trust the honesty of the crash-testing. I believe Kurgo is one of few really good dog-gear brands.Convenience: Because this needs to be snug, it requires both un-clipping the rear clips and loosening the front clips in order to slip the harness over my dogs head. Itâs a bit of a hassle, tbh. It hasnât stopped me from using it, because the peace of mind knowing my dog is *actually* safe in the car is so much more important than a few seconds of my time.Maybe Iâll pay more in the future for a more âconvenientâ option, but for now this harness is incredible for us.

Safe and comfortable harness with a BONUS seat tether!
I recently adopted a lovable ,goofy Weimaraner, “Porter” (to add to my canine family of an older Weim and a much older rescue mix-breed.) The first car trip with him (to the vet) was traumatic for BOTH of us. He “spazzed out” , barking, seat jumping and smearing nose or mouth fluids on EVERY window and sliding off the seat when I braked. At that point, I realized that I needed harnesses for the safety of all 3 dogs while driving with them. Luckily, I found this Kurgo crash tested harness and ordered it ( and was lucky enough to get it at a discounted price for my honest review because I just. LOVE to give advice! ). , which is GREAT for Amazon shoppers ..but maybe, NOT SO MUCH for a harmonious marriage. (But that’s another story..ð) Anyway, this harness is great! It is VERY adjustable and fits my mid-sized dog..the 61 lb. one great.. but… I truly believe that it is made so well that my 55 lb. shelter mix or even my larger 90 lb. Weim could wear it. The harness is super easy to put on. I adjusted it ahead of time so I only have to fasten one clasp once it is on my fidgety dog. After my terrible experience with Porter and my realization that ALL. dogs should be safely tethered(not just hyper, freaking out dogs) to keep them out of my lap while driving and from sliding off my slick leather seats when I swerve to avoid sofas, mattresses and other “road garbage” on our Alabama interstates but also ,when I have to brake suddenly when the idiot in front of me abruptly stops because he or she is frantically mopping very hot Starbucks off his/her lap.(And, I’ve recently learned from my vet that folks in my city are getting large tickets for un-tethered dogs…which is because of a law that most folks have never heard of and one that really ticks me off because it’s an easy way for the city to collect more money! Again… another story…) In the past, this unexpected braking has sent my sweet, calm dogs tumbling …butt over head, into my floorboard, risking severe injuries. This harness fits ALL my requirements! It is extremely well made ,with a padded chest plate and adjustable straps that don’t pinch or bind. I will admit, the way the metal clasps worked threw me at first (because of the unique and unusual way they work) but, after buying several harnesses, I can truly say that THIS is the best and most secure harness I have found! Porter seems very accepting and comfortable while wearing it. When it arrived, I put it on him and went for a “test drive.”. He was able to sit or stand and , even with sudden turns or braking, he was absolutely safe and remained safely upright in the seat! AND, as a plus, I didn’t have to Windex every window afterwards! The ONLY reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the tether attachment is not adjustable ( unlike another one I purchased.) Over all, this is a fantastic product and I feel a little guilty for downgrading the FREE. seat belt tether. ( Note the photo-bomber in the picture that shows the. odd but secure metal clasp. ha!)

Kurgo Tru-Fit Enhanced Strength Dog Harnesses; It’s a everyday hard wearing harness, must buy!
The Kurgo Tru-Fit Enhanced Strength Dog Harness – Crash Tested Car Safety Harness for Dogs, No Pull Dog – Adopted dogs do have issues, & pet parents do need good equipment that is strong, & do not have a quick release mechanism, so you don’t loss your family pet. Kurgo Tru-Fit helps greatly when working through the dog’s issues (pulling forward or fast reversing). The other important part of this harness is the ability to seatbelt the dog into the vehicle’s seat belt (stops dogs from jumping out; moving around inside the vehicle, & protects the dog in case of a vehicle crash). This harness is worth it’s weight in gold, & is an all around everyday true use harness that is above & beyond the ordinary harnesses out there. This is a must buy for your best friend & furry family member.

Excellent, Unique Design, So Read Instructions!
I LOVE this harness for my Miniature Poodle! But read the instructions, they are not hard, but it has a unique design. 3 Tips: A) The chest strap has two “loops” to match the size of the dog, with a push snap inside. B) The usual plastic push & click fasteners are REPLACED with a really cool “slide through” design. Push it through when aligned with the cut-out notiches, and then it lays flat to secure the harness on the dog. C) When you put the seat belt buckle through the “C” clamp on the back of the harness, turn the buckle sideways! Then No problem. This is a very high quality and sturdy designed harness, yet very comfortable for my Poodle. Love it!

The harness is made of high quality webbing and buckles. It is easy to adjust although putting it on the dog can at first be a bit of a struggle to make sure the buckles line up properly. However, they are made out of top quality metal (not plastic!) and hold the dog very securely in our car when combined with a sturdy leash attached to the center headrest posts in the back seat. This harness will certainly keep our dog safe in case of an accident and also restricts his movements inside the car while still being comforatble for him to wear. Well worth the cost.

Doesnât work for barrel chests. It wonât stay in the middle and ends up diagonal or bunching up weird. I canât see this being helpful if it canât stay put on the dog

Second seatbelt harness for our second pup. We only trust the Kurgo harnesses. They are well made and sturdy and we love that they can plug into the existing seatbelt buckle.
