MADE FOR LARGE DOGS: Unlike other water bottles marketed for dogs, the Lixit top fill water bottle is made using an extra-large tube to meet the watering needs of large pets. The tube is made from 304 American stainless steel that is commonly found in food preparation. We finish our tubes till they have a satin finish like quality silverware.
FILL FROM THE TOP: The Lixit top fill dog bottle features a lid on the top that allows you to fill the bottle without removing it from the cage.
NO DRIP VALVE: This bottle features Lixit’s Patented no drip valve. This valve is completely serviceable and can easily be rebuilt if it starts to leak.
DUAL MOUNT: The Lixit top fill bottle is flat on both sides and can be mounted outside or inside the cage. The 44oz bottle features a large open-ended clamp to easily remove the bottle from the cage.

Easy fill, clean water and no soaked messy dripping face!
I recently purchased the Lixit top fill water bottle for my small breed dog that drinks as if he was a horse, and I’m quite pleased with it. The stainless steel tube is substantial and easy to clean, ensuring fresh, clean water for my furry friend. The top-fill design is a lifesaver, as it eliminates the need to remove the entire bottle for refilling. While the no-drip valve is a great feature, I’ve noticed some minor leaking issues, especially when the bottle is full. Filling it about up only 2/3 seems to work well. However if you tighten the valve, the leaking issue is easily resolved.Overall, the Lixit top fill water bottle is a solid choice for small to large dogs. It’s durable, easy to use, and keeps my pet hydrated.

Leaky, lazy manufacturing
This seemed like a good product out of the bag but about 20 seconds in it began where the spout meets the bottle. Once we disassembled it about 3 separate times and washed it, it finally resolved to leak from the ball bearing at the end instead…. It leaked a lot, enough to soak my puppy’s ear and side of face while she napped in her crate. The lid is just sat on top and is excessively large to create a friction “seal”, so if you’re unlucky enough to grab it a bit too high, the whole thing will release from your command and spill its 30+oz of contents on the ground. I didn’t expect much for $6 but man I expected a bit more at least. Only upside is puppy took to it easily so now I know I can buy a replacement and she’ll figure it out + Amazon gave me a refund (this item isn’t returnable, they make you talk to a rep to get a refund.). The connection to the crate is a giant pain in the ass to reposition, and inside the crate for most setups, and could readily be unscrewed (basic thumb screw clamp) by a curious puppy, easily tipping the water bottle over and out. Very lazily designed a manufactured, just pick a better option.

This product is great….don’t freak if it leaks…I know why. I can help 🙂
Don’t get upset if it leaks…there is a reason why,and it’s a very quick fix. Thanks to my awesome engineer, super smarty pants husband. We got the first one for my Pug puppy last week…and as soon as I filled it up…it began to leak. Just like everyone who had an issue said it would. My husband took a quick look at it. This bottle is from a plastic die-cast mold. Two pieces that are joined together. Down at the nozzle portion, if run your finger along it…you can feel a bit of a bump….just enough to interrupt it from properly sealing. He took a razor blade box cutter and shaved it off. Now it works like a dream. No drip, no leak. My puppy LOVES it. We decided to go and get another for our two chihuahuas, bc they like his. It came in today. Sure enough, same little bump and it was leaking some at the nozzle where you screw it on. So I shaved the little bump off, and voila…works fantastically. Plastic isn’t always perfect. So don’t give up on this product. It’s awesome.

Leak proof for the most part
First, I recommend the largest size because they are made differently from their smaller size bottles. The smaller size doesn’t use the same leak proof technology as the bigger size does. Also the bigger size can be taken apart to clean the steel ball and rubber pieces.I have only had a little leakage when the ball gets stuck and only needs to be touched and it goes back into place. As others have mentioned, you may have to take apart when you first get the bottle and put it back together. 4 out of 6 that I ordered were originally put together backwards. Once reassembled they work great. One I had to carve down the little plastic notches/bumps on the screw cap to ensure a tight waterproof connection.I highly recommend these large bottles as they work great for small or larger pups. They mount on outside of crates and kennels so pups dont chew on them or knock them off. The larger bottles also have screw-on clamps that clamp on either sides of the bars and the nut tightens to hold them in place. The smaller bottles have a clip on metal spring that wraps around the bottle and allows the bottle to move and get knocked out of place and is also hard to clip on and especially unclip. This is even harder depending on the size/guage of the bars of your crate/kennel.The small bottles leaked and drained completely with no use by pups. This was just hanging them and filling with water. So don’t buy the small ones even if you think you don’t need the larger size. My litters of pups had no trouble using the larger ones. Cost of larger ones is negligible.I highly recommend the large Lixit bottles. Bonus, they fill from the top and don’t have to be removed except to clean.

They’re ok but need improvement.
These bottle work good at first but after a few months they start leaking alot to the point in floods my dogs kennel. I’ve use multiple of these and I’ve already had to replace 3 from 3 different cages.

Very Convenient
I’m very happy with this purchase. The product arrived on time. The quality is good and it works well for keeping the drinking water of your dog clean. I even think it’s easier for them to drink from this canister than a bowl on the floor. Plus you don’t need to worry about the water being splashed out of the bowl, the water getting dirty, the whole face of the dog getting wet, or pests accessing your dog’s water.Great product!

Just got this today. Have used Lixit Pet Water Bottels for many years, like long before the Internet. Used to order those big 48 oz hanging bottles with large spigot. So I know this company very well. This particular bottle is of course much smaller than what I used to get, but love the Fill from the top, and no drip operation. Quick easy setup, instructions included. Cats quickly adapted to it. I just fill about 1/4 of the bottle with watered down Tuna juice, and hang it up. Thats it. Cats train themselves. (If you try this, must use water packed, oil free tuna). Add some water to the juice in the can, trying not to add any Tuna meat. My Lixit water bottles have lasted some 20 years or more, with an occasional leak, at times, here and there, but depended on how I screwed the top on. These new dripless bottles are awesome and I expect to be using it for years too. Easy clean. Crack free, odorless. Can be disenfected when needed. I love this!! Arrived quickly for non Prime purchase. Thank you Amazon!!

I was a little concerned on first using as it leaked, but it turned out that the gasket wasnât in the connector properly, once we sorted that, it stopped leaking and my dog still had a some left after her flight so sheâd obviously used it

After trying this for a few days, i discovered that it leaks like a sieve. I went back and completely reinstalled it, but no change – my pups bedding was soaked. I wrote twice to the company and got zero replies. It just doesn’t work properly. I live overseas and don’t want to have to go to the trouble and expense of returning it so I guess I’ve learned my lesson.
