I had to alter for my own application
This worked great! I couldn’t find anything for a custom made mouse house built into the wall of an outdoor shed. I bought 3 of these, removed the spring part and cut the holder part down the center with a grinder and shaped them around 3 of the blue water bottles normally used to attach between the wires of a hamster cage. The holes allowed me to screw them onto the wood studs of the walls. They hold very securely with no movement.

works very well with solid wall cages
We are building a new guinea pig cage with solid walls to try to limit the hay and poop escaping from our current wire cage. This is a very solidly built hanger that adjusts to any reasonable height and width cage wall. It fits a normal size water bottle, although it didn’t fit one of ours that had an unusual degree of slope from the neck to the tube. The pigs have no trouble using it, and there haven’t been any problems with the water bottle hanging inside the cage.

Pretty great, I will buy another.
Extremely easy to use. A slight plasticy smell but went away as soon as I washed it by hand. The aquatic blue is quite vivid and pretty. The little turtle inside helps a huge amount to see what level the water is at from a distance. The holder is good and strong. Occasionally leaks but is easily remedies by washing it or tapping the top of the bottle. I highly recommend, geting at least two for guinea pigs helps for territorial issues. I will buy another.

Stops gerbil from chewing up water bottle
I got this to put my gerbils’ water bottle in because they were chewing holes in it and making it leak. Problem is solved now because it protects the bottle and they can’t chew it anymore.

    Great Non-Leaking Bottle
I bought this bottle for my daughter’s Guinea Pig about 6 months ago and it is fabulous! It doesn’t leak at all! However, when putting the bottle in the cage, be sure to tap the drinking ball a couple of times to make sure water will come out. It is so good at not leaking that it may not let water come out. We have had other bottles that leak so I was excited that this one doesn’t. Just clean it regularly and it will not leak. It’s a great bottle!

    Perfect for an aquarium
I have our hamster in an aquarium and he kept knocking over the water bottle.. This has solved everything.I do suggest a glass bottle if you can find one. The first time I had a plastic bottle and he ate a hole in it.

    Sadly Leaks
The bottle is absolutely adorable. There is even a little floating water level indicator inside of it. The metal bracket which can be placed on a wooden cage frame with a screw is exactly what I was looking for. But unfortunately the water bottle itself leaks. There is a slow drip from where the ball bearing rests inside of the tube. In other words it oes not completely stop the flow of water. If it were not for the water leak this item would be perfect. Sadly I am forced to return the item.

Love it. So want to let others know about it. I originally looped string through hole in top of this, put knots in the string end, then pushed the lid of my tank onto the string to keep it in place. But the simpler method is to bend the very back piece of metal, that is behind the back of the holder to cover the rim of your tank. It’s easy to bend and different to the harder metal the rest is made of. This is the second one of these I’ve brought, the first about a year ago (that one is still as good as new). Plus I feel price of item from this seller is good.Gerbil Review. This item is really good. I sometimes chew it but nothing happens. Because I like climbing I can jump, then hold onto the spring bottle holder and get onto the top of the water bottle. I did this a few times and enjoyed chewing through the string! Down went the holder and bottle! My owner has got round this problem by buying a bottle with a hanging loop on top, so I don’t have space to get onto it anymore! Also the spring can be placed behind the back of the holder Also i still get water from the bottle without it being held in place with that spring. We both really like this item. The owner found ways around the my gerbil misadventure. But it took two weeks to arrive so bear that in mind.

Bought this for my glass gerbilarium as most of the other ones available don’t work unless you have a wire cage. I attached some industrial velcro to the smooth metal side and stuck it to the inside of my glass tank so I don’t quite use it as it’s intended but it works for me perfectly. The gerbils can’t gnaw through the metal holder and it keeps the water bottle perfectly in place.

Great chew guard! One of my gerbils would chew through anything and the bottle needed to be hung from the side of the cage. I tried glass bottles and come other chew guards, but none worked well. The other chew guards were flimsy, got rusty really quick and the gerbils managed to break the strap. This chew guard works perfectly even with a plastic bottle.

We converted a large terrarium to house our two gerbils. We struggled with the free standing bottle holders as the gerbils kept chewing their way through the base. We purchased this and some heavy duty velcro which has done the trick. This has now been holding for months.
