Exactly what we needed!
We recently purchased a firm mattress and was instantly regretting it. Sleeping on it a full night was a lot different than the 3 minute test in the store… of course it helped my husband’s back which is why we got a firm mattress, but at the cost of our comfort I was not a happy camper. So I did my homework on what type of topper to use that would help the situation taking into consideration sleeping positions, size, etc. I researched many types of pads, down, down-alternative, foam, memory foam, etc. and decided to try a down alternative topper first. Then I did copious amounts of research to find the best reviews and price and finally decided on the LUCID 3 Inch High Plush Down Alternative Fiber Bed Topper, I took it out of the box and let it air out overnight before using it (only a slight odor, but probably wouldn’t have been noticed with sheets over it). When I put it on the bed, I was happy to see that the fitted sheet did not flatten it out, but was still able to secure it (the bands on the topper also helped secure it to the mattress). The first night we slept on it was like heaven. It gave us the soft plushness we were missing on our new firm mattress and did not bunch up or flatten down in any areas like other products I reviewed. I’ve been sleeping on it for about 3 weeks now and when I change the sheets I pop it off and shake it out just to redistribute the areas that do take most of our weight and it’s still just as super comfortable and plush. It also stays in place, and when I make the bed, you cannot tell there is any kind of topper on it.. it just looks soft and plushy, but still neat underneath our comforter. I also have not noticed any difference in temperature, and I tend to be a pretty hot sleeper and was concerned it might hold in more heat, but it seems to breathe well. Overall, this is an excellent topper for our needs and I look forward to getting into my bed every night because of it!

It’s like big, comfy comforter.
You’d definitely benefit more setting this over a memory foam pad, and/or a decent mattress. If the mattress sags, the pad goes with it. That’s just common sense. I’m using it on top of a 6 month old, saggy, cheap mattress, that I plan to replace asap. The pad needs to be fluffed each time you lay down. I’m a tiny person, but when I get up, I have to roll out of the bed, because I’m in a me-shaped hole with this pad. I feel like a pea laying in a pod. It flattens out in the night, but feels loads better than sleeping on just the mattress alone. Quite comfortable, pad-wise, for sleep. It’s a bit warm for the Summer, but will be nice in the Winter. It makes me sweat, so I keep the A/C up high. In the deep south, we’re in Summer mode most of the year. It doesn’t move around or roll up. It stays in place, fits the mattress nicely, and fits under my mattress protector. It’s definitely a good pad to have on top of the brick I sleep on. I’d describe it as a big, fluffy comforter. It’s not 3″ thick, at any point. The fabric that holds the stuffing measures 3″ high, on the side, but even completely fluffed, the stuffing itself doesn’t measure at 3″. To be fair, it’s about half that. It should have more stuffing. I’m happy overall with the purchase, but I believe the AD overstates the product.

Extending the life of your mattress
Addendum: Here we are one year later. Decided to purchase another full sized Lucid 3 mattress topper for another bed, only this one has been installed at my dad’s home. It has made visiting him even better, for us siblings. When each of us come for a visit we have a bed that allows us to sleep well instead of waking up sore. Much more restful than without the Lucid 3 mattress topper.I researched then bought two Lucid 3 mattress toppers. One for a King bed and one for a full. They arrived in a timely manner. I am usually skeptical of a topper because I have had several over the years I have tried and returned. This topper made tge grade: A for adding some softness to a firm bed and A for adding softness without sinking to a full bed where we thought about replacing but need to decide if we want another full or bump to a queen(and find a good deal on a good mattress).Very please with the level of support. The compartments of alternative down do not slide out of place because of the construction and individual compartments. No odor upon opening the packaging. Easy to fluff and does not remain compressed. The sleep center websites stated a 3 inch topper and they were right. Anything less really isn’t worth it. This is the one for us, and it provides whole body support. Aches and pains subside, pressure points are minimized if not gone. We feel like we get to sleep cozy and comfy, not hot to sleep on either!

I have had this for about a year and it makes my hard bed so much nicer to be in. When I first got it the difference between having it vs not was like night and day. It is easy to clean too by just putting it in the washing machine. The manufacturer also offers a warranty which is good for peace of mind.

Was looking forward to this arriving!I’ve been sleeping on it for about 2-3 weeks now, and wow! I look forward to going to bed each night and dread having to get out. It’s incredibly comfortable and I’ve even noticed my back pain has disappeared.I was a bit skeptical when I first pulled it from the box. It was super puffy and looked awesome, but it was about 6 inches to narrow and 3 inches to short when I layed it on my king mattress. But once I pulled the straps under the mattress to hold it in place it stretched out nicely and fit great. My mattress protector and fitted sheet fit very nicely over top.I haven’t yet had to re-poof it yet as mentioned in other reviews.I recommend this to everyone who asks!So comfy.
