Fantastic leash and collar combo for strong dogs!
This is a supplement to my first review a few days ago, to add 3 photos and explain how to use this if you are having problems with dogs pulling you like they’re The Boss whether on a regular collar or harness. Our mini pit bull is the strongest animal I’ve ever known. Also the sweetest. She just wants to get out and meet people. Okay, Lily, we’re trying! But Lily kept escaping EVERY collar and harness known to man, so we were beyond frustrated.When my husband did contractor work at a shelter, they showed him The Trick that has saved us, and it involves a leash and collar just like this one (don’t know if it was this brand or not, but it looked identical). The shelter employee said the only way they could control any of their hard-to-handle dogs was to loop the collar on the dog normally, then pass the handle of the leash underneath one of the dog’s front legs (see picture, leash passed under Lily’s right front leg), then pulled up to the dog’s back towards the dog’s front and UNDERNEATH the COLLAR (see photos!). By doing this, you are taking the pressure away from the dog’s neck and esophagus (which can choke the dog or crush a dog’s esophagus) and causing the pressure from your pulling of the leash to be distributed equally between the neck-shoulders-torso of the dog, which is great because it’s SAFE. It’s also great because the dog doesn’t like it! It also means you do not have to get in FRONT of the dog, like we also tried to do to take pressure off Lily’s neck, but that was a huge FAIL; Lily laughed at us and just went on her merry way, pulling us behind her like so much trash, and we are not small people. If you’ve ever owned a pit bull or strong dog, you know what I mean. I do believe she could pull a pickup truck full of cattle.Anyway, This inexpensive, yet very strong leash/collar combo was ALL it took to contain this Super Strong Pittie. The first time we hooked it up on her, she tried to lead the way on her walk, as usual, for about 10 seconds before she realized, huh-uh, it wasn’t going to work anymore, and since she’s smart, she didn’t try again. Ten seconds, that’s all it took, and after about a month now, she’s been a perfect little doggie on her walks… after we wasted about $150 on 3 harnesses and $75 on various collars. Sure wish we’d known sooner, but really glad we at least found it now. Got another one of these leashes for her Shiba-chow “sister,” but she’s fine no matter what we use. It’s Lily who’s the escape artist. Hope this helps those of you with similar strong pitties and goliath dogs.

Reasonable quality at a good price.
I use these leashes for training dogs not to pull, by twisting the noise into a figure 8 and looping it over the nose. The dog soon learns that pulling is uncomfortable and walking nicely relaxes pressure.This leash is a bit thick for this purpose – more irritating to the dog – but it’s flexible and reasonably soft. I also like that the sliding part is plastic and therefore washable – unlike the much more expensive Mendota, which is leather that becomes useless if it gets wet.It would be nice to have the option to buy only four, and a different selection of colors would also be nice, but overall this is a good product that I will buy again.

Slip Lead
LOVE this slip lead. Don’t need to worry about a collar, easy to carry and easy on your hands. The weight of this lead is perfect. I got the longer lead and am glad I did. It works better for training and recalls. Soft on the dogs neck and classy looking. You won’t be sorry if you purchase this lead.

My dog always yanked me on walks …I could not control her easily.Now I can control her much better.She is a strong and stubborn Skye terrier, now we know who is the boss .Great leash ,comfortable and safe too.

È un piccolo dettaglio che fa davvero la differenza!Pro- Materiale molto resistente, perfetto per cani di taglia media e grande.- Impugnatura comoda e antiscivolo, ottima anche sotto la pioggia.- La corda ha un certo “ammortizzamento” che aiuta a ridurre i colpi improvvisi quando il cane tira.Contro- Sarebbe utile avere diverse lunghezze tra cui scegliere, ma quella standard va bene per passeggiate quotidiane.Do 5 stelle perché è un guinzaglio che offre la massima sicurezza, senza rinunciare alla comodità. Lo consiglio a chi cerca un prodotto robusto e pratico per cani di taglia media o grande, e a chi vuole un guinzaglio che resista nel tempo.
