>>>UPDATE<<< : So I had the blanket on my lap with my cat laying on it. It was warm and cozy BUT it didnt stop heating up!! I lowered the temperature to a 4 yet it still got warmer until it was too hot. I went to shut it off and saw that it automatically shut itself off because it got too hot. So I cancelled my order for more of these and came back to update my review. If you still choose to buy this item just be aware and keep a good eye on it. Very sad because I liked it a lot.Original review:I bought the red and green color for Christmas. I just opened the box and had it plugged in for about half an hour so I cant comment on how well this will hold up but I can say it heated up fast. It has an 8 hour timer, so it automatically shuts off after 8 hours. I bought this for my cats. On my deck outside I have cats, the deck has a roof and I hung a clear shower curtain so it stays dry. For the past few nights the weather has gotten extremely cold. I have been searching for something to help them survive out there and I bought this blanket to put out there at night. I understand its not meant to be for the outdoors but I will moniter it and it wont get wet. Im actually waiting for 2 50 gallon bins to arrive to make shelters for them, also from Amazon. Anyhow, The blanket is thin, very soft and it seems to heat up pretty evenly. I love the colors!! Perfect for Christmas so keeping my fingers crossed it will hold up for the frigid cold we have here now im ordering 3 more. 2 will be for my living room, they are so pretty and cozy. I just love these!! I ordered the throws. I have the 1st one on my lap now, its nice and warm and my indoor cat snuggled up on it.
