My cat is very, very, very obsessed with clawing up door frames, and I came to the conclusion that she was wanting to scratch something in my hallway (she has cat trees with tall scratchers by windows, but none in the hall) where she could get a nice full body stretch, and the two scratching posts nearby were both too short for that.I’m happy to announce that this scratching post (I got the tallest size) does reach the height of the destruction on the doorframe, and while she hasn’t entirely stopped scratching the doorframes, she does sometimes choose to go for this scratching post instead. Here’s to hoping that will keep increasing over time!Generally speaking, the fabric parts are soft, the ropey material is fine, and it was really quick and easy to put together – took less than five minutes. My cat doesn’t care about the ball on the spring, but I’m sure some cats would like it. I did have to cut off the elastic string and ball on the top, though, because my kitty likes to chew through elastic, and I didn’t want her breaking it off and eating the elastic while I was gone. Something to be aware of if you have a cat as silly about elastic as me!I haven’t tried attaching the little brush/scratchy pad because I just wanted to get it quickly put together for my kitty, but it’s nice that it’s an option and I might add it on later. I fully plan on getting another one of these whenever this one needs replacing or if I move to a bigger place with more doorframes to try to protect!

Solid Build and Easy to Set Up, But My Cat Isn’t Very Interested

The sisal scratching surface looks like it’ll last a long time, even with regular use.Sturdy and Stable: Once assembled, the post feels very sturdy and doesn’t wobble, which is great for heavier cats or active scratching sessions.Easy Assembly: Putting it together was straightforward and quick, so it was ready for my cat in no time.Cons:Cat Isn’t Very Interested: Unfortunately, my cat doesn’t use it as often as I’d hoped. She’ll occasionally give it a scratch or play with the hanging ball, but it’s not her go-to scratcher.Overall:The MECOOL Cat Scratching Post is a well-built, sturdy product and could be perfect for cats who love sisal scratching posts. While my cat hasn’t fully taken to it, I still think it’s a good product and worth a try if you’re looking for a reliable scratching post.

First cat scratcher my cat has used
Material is perfect and appealing to a cat to scratch. Tall height provides a good back stretch. Very sturdy and will not tip over. Cats finally giving my couch a rest

The ball attachment doesn’t screw in
My kittens like the scratching post and use it but the ball attachment that comes with it won’t screw in. It’s like there’s no grooves in it for the screw to screw into.

This is a pretty large sturdy cat post. I have 3 active cats….they all LOVE this tree.I’ve had two of them at the same time on the pole itself (18lbs) and wresting on it…no tipping at all. This thing is just awesome. Great bang for buck.Also, carpet doesn’t shed…I appreciate that I don’t need to clean that up too.

I have 2 cats that are litter mates. Both female. one of them loves this and uses it frequently. The other has no interest in it at all and runs off if I put her on it.
